Question about Bissell 9500 ProHeat 2X CleanShot Upright Deep Cleaner, Red Berends Vacuum

1 Answer

The soap dispenser on my 2X is not dispensing. I wrote with this initial problem and received a reply. We did everything recommended to find a clog. To begin with, we poked holes thru the little holes on the underside with a toothpick. Next we took the machine all apart as directed and cleaned out anything that had accumulated (such as pet hair). Eventually we emptied out the soap dispenser, filled it with a hot salt water solution and let it sit for 10 min. I ran three tanks of hot water (which still cleaned the spots out of my carpet,) but the soap level didn't alter one iota. I put a sticky note to mark the balance to determine if it was working at all. I just bought this machine 10/26/09 and purchased a 2 year Product Care Plan from N.E.W. It's still under warranty. What now?

Hello,

The solution to your problem is already solved, since your soap dispenser is still under warrant,

What i will suggest is that you contact the company that supply you this product and explain everything to them, it is most likely they give you the solution to your problem or send someone to your aid, or can even replace the product for you.

Take care.

I have the Bissell 9400 ProHeat 2X and it will not dispense cleaning fluid. Is there anything I can check?

YES! And it was amazingly simple. The soap dispenser has a red washer/gasket thing that fits over the nozzle. For clarity, it can be viewed here: http://www.vacpartswarehouse.com/Products-p/2036677.htm
The red part can come loose and remain inside the receiver where it fits snugly and looks like it belongs there. In this configuration, the tank cannot insert far enough into the receiver to open the spring valve and no detergent will flow. Simply remove the red piece from the receiver (I used small pliers), replace it on the tank nozzle, and the detergent will flow again!

Water not dispensing

Check the release valve on bottom of clean water reservoir unscrew if needed, once again if your not sure run hot water in the solution tank through the system to help remove old soap residue and always run hot water through to prevent future problems after cleaning carpet and storing.steve

My bissell pro heat 2X has stopped dispensing water from the tank, the suction is working and it seems to be dispensing the detergent, so it is not rinsing or washing with water. I have cheaked to see if...

I have a Proheat 2X and had the same problem. I tried the Water Rinse setting and found water came out and was suctioned properly, but on the Light Clean, Normal Clean, and Heavy Traffic settings, the unit failed to do anything. Problem may be with leaving the soap dispenser in-place, which might scum up the tubing.

SO, an alternative to throwing out my unit and buying something else was to put one capful of the Bissell soap in the water resevoir and keep the unit on Water Rinse. IT WORKS BEAUTIFULLY NOW. Don't know if this will help, but at least I didn't have to buy a new unit. Rinse everything after using and there's been no problem.

Machine will not dispense water even though reservoir is full. Soap is not dispensing either.

check the spray nozzles on top of the brushroll. these often clog. If those are clear could most likely be the pump as they fail frequently.

Black water leaks from bottom of ProHeat 2x

Probably be a rubber seal leak or crack at the soap water dispenser pump.
If you can take it apart and it is the seal you should be able to reseal it with gasket seal from an auto parts store.

Soap dispenses, water won't

Could be the pump, but this model clogs up easily. You could try taking the noozles off and blow thru them to see if they are clogged or not. Other then that you may have to take it in for repair, It can be problem to find where it is clogged, if the noozles are ok that is. Unless you want to take it apart and try to find the problem yourself.

They all have problems. Hoover over Bissell, or Eureka. But it is hard to know which is better.
