It sounds like the out of balance load damaged the door lock assembly. You can manually unlock the door by removing the lower inspection panel & pulling down on the quick release tab on the bottom of the door lock. Once you get the door to close you can try running another cycle. If the unit spins ok empty. I suspect an out of balance load caused the problem. If the unit is still spinning out of balance I recommend having the shocks & springs checked. Other testing will require using a volt/ohm meter if needed.

If you are handy in using the electrical equipments check for the continuity in the control board.

Hello. Unplug your machine and leave it unplugged for five minutes. That will reset it. Then plug it back in.

If the door is still in lock mode you will have to see why by reading the following link http://www.ehow.com/how_5545508_access-error-codes-ge-washers.html

My duet ffront load washer give me the error code dl then an f when I try to start the cycle. I have tried pause cancel twice then opening the door and starting the cyle and closing the door last thing...

The door is not locked after 6 trials then the Central Control Unit (CCU) will enters a failure mode and the digital display flashes FdL. This is a door lock failure and the only viable solution is the replacement of the door lock and switch assembly.

Disconnect power to the washer and open the door. Remove the door gasket retaining hoop by stretching apart the retaining spring at the bottom of the door opening.

Gently peel the part of the door gasket near the door lock and switch assembly off the lip of the door opening outer lip. Remove enough of the door gasket to access the door lock and switch assembly behind the front panel.

Remove the three screws securing the door lock and switch assembly to the front panel and slightly lift then pull it back off the front panel and out of the out of the washer cabinet.

Connect the wiring harness to the new door lock and switch assembly one at a time then install it back in place behind the front panel.

Secure the door lock and switch assembly then put the eased part of the door gasket back over the outer lip of the door opening. Check that the door gasket is properly seated before putting back and securing the retaining hoop around the lip of the door opening and the door gasket.

Upside down F and E error message any ideas?

would that look like a tE or dE? TE is Thermistor error. Replace thermistor and check wiring back to control board. thermistor is accessible from bottom of unit reaching up to bottom front of tub. in middle of heater element it just pulls out of rubber seal.
DE would be a door error. is door open or did it lock when cycle started. door lock asm should fix this.

Amana front load washer door locked with door open

To get the front off. (All screws look to be #2 Phillips Screws)
1. You have to unscrew (2) phillips screws from the back that holds the top on.
2. Slide the top off. (slide towards the back)
3. Then where the control panel is there is about 4-6 screws holding that plastic piece on, take those out this will allow you to pull the control panel up and out of the way.
4. At this point you can unscrew the 4-6 screws in the door area that holds the front of the washer on, once you unscrew those screws there is a tab that you have to lift the front over to pull the front off. This will allow you access to the locking mechanism.
5. There are only 2 screws holding te locking mechanism on.
