Question about Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP2 for PC

Unable to type z key

I was helping a neighbour resinstall windows xp and on trying to activate windows, I could not get the z character to type. I went through 4 different keyboard (3 ps2, and 1 USB keyboard) and all had the same problem with only the z key, nothing would show up on screen when I press the z key.

The 3 ps2 keyboards were old but the USB one is quite new.
