On my 2010 Toyota Corolla the key occasionally is very hot when I remove it from the ignition. Is there something wrong with the ignition? .The dealer said the Immobilizer makes the key warm, but the key...

The transponder around the key which reads the chip is what the dealer means ,it should not make it excessively hot but it all depends on the person because as a mechanic i dont feel it as hot but the mrs uses a cloth ,so when it feels hot to you ask someone else to have feel as it may not appear hot to them .unless the heater vent is blowing over the key then i dont see why its should get that hot ,could be fault of the model i suppose but this is the first time i have read about this for this model vehicle

I put a metal pan with food inside my microwave oven. I heard a popping sound and there are now two tiny black marks pitted into the glass on the door. I can feel the two pitted marks from both inside...

Yes it is safe to continue using the Microwave as long as the integrity of the glass is not compromised and the pitted marks do not exceed 1/4 inch. The RFwave generated by the magnetron is a pretty wide RF wave beam.

If your really concerned you can take the unit to any appliance service center and ask that they perform an RF leakage test. There is really no other way to know if your leakage is within acceptable limits. I can tell you from personal experience that the ony microwave I ever saw demonstrated excessive leakage had either been dropped and had hinge or latch damage.

If your really worried about it and can not get to a service center you can do this test:
- Wrap a tall empty glass with a sheet of aluminum foil and place it about 3 inches away from the microwave in front of the area you where noticed the pitting.
- Run the microwave with a GLASS filled with water of equal size for 1 minute.
- Stand back 3 to 4 feet and watch for any signs of a spark on the aluminum foil.
- As soon as the microwave shuts off check the dry foil wrapped glass for any signs of heat.

(No heat.... no problem. Sparks or Heat = repair time.)

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

A/C temperature control knob does not abjust from hot to cold

Check your blend door, it is located at the bottom center of the dash, it has a stepping motor that opens and closes it, if you remove the lower center dash cover right at the center floor, you will find the motor there, if the motor moves back and forth while selecting cold and hot, then the door is probably broken. If it is broken the entire dash will nedd to be removed to replace it, if you are not comfortable with this level of repair, I suggest you take it to your favorite local repair shop. Hope this helps, let me know.

Compressor runs continuously, and center bar (heat dissipator) is extremely hot to touch.

Molly, The hot bar is a normal part of the sealed system (compressor) operation. The relay they told you about is on the back of the compressor and I would not recommend you changing that. The refrigerator is a balanced system, the freezer air removes the heat from the refrigerator side. If the compressor runs all the time, look for food close to the edge and not letting the doors close completely. Move items back. Don't over pack the freezer, the air must circulate. The refrigerator of today runs longer and uses less power that the old refrigerator. If you are still having issues with this model call a authorized Kitchen repair person in you area and ask how much they charge to come to your house and give an estimate.

Fridge freezer over heating and is not cooling fridge section

It is normal for the middle strip to be hot. Did you check the temp setting in the fridge section?
Also - you might check for blockage in the bottom. Excessive dirt/dog hair can block the air flow.
Good luck

just check the wiring running to the fan and if you can, connect the fan direct to mains to check the fan itself is ok. no fan then the compressor will get hot and cooling will be affected.
the hot strip between the doors is deliberate - it stops condensation

Fridge is getting hot in between the doors

This is called a mullion heater and is perfectly normal as this heater prevents the area between the doors from freezing. No danger at all.
