Ok, this is a common problem you see that Video/DVD was recorded with a particular set of CODEC's, now, some CODEC's work in a lot of machines, but NOT in others, sometimes you can "Upgrade" your "Firmware" which, basically, Adds CODECS to the DVD players memory, so it will recognize it and play, if it doesn't have the CODEC it simply will use a "Generic" CODEC, now that will work, however it will NOT have all the features, such as aspect ratio, screen size etc, etc. It will just play in the "Commonest" format, which is Full Screen. So that is your "problem" well not really a problem so much as the lack of a "Feature" as they say.. Check, if indeed there are any Firmware upgrades. You also need to discover what CODEC's that particular DVD, that will not co-operate, and find out what it is encoded in, and ensure that you do not get that format again..if you cannot get a CODEC upgrade?
