If there is water pressure still hooked up then pump is primed and a sensor { that kicks the idle down when not pulling the trigger} is restricting the fuel flow. see if problem continues without pressure

Hi My 2005 Same Dorado 85 Tractor. It starts from cold easily first time around. But once the engine has been running for several minutes it stops.

sounds like you could have a coolant temp sensor issue. If it senses the engine temperature higher than it actually is, it will tell the engine computer to shut down.

Also I'm not showing an 05 Eldorado, if you could give the correct information for your car, it would be very helpful

I have a 18hp kohler it starts and ruins for 5/ 10 seconds and them shuts down and there is a cloud of white smoke

Air cooled engine ok ,
When the engine shut off did it white smoke out the garden it could be the head gasket
Low compression and it won't start poor compression and it might start but run poorly stall easily and white smoke produce because of unburnt fuel escaping into hot exhausts and vaporizing

Engine runs for about 30 seconds and shutdown like an electrical shutdown as opposed to a fuel related shutdown.

Carburetor leaks after engine is shut off

Your carbs bowl float is sticking allowing the gas to continue to flow when the engine is not running. And if you say it is ruining into the engine..check the oil for the presence of gas..if so change the oil,oil filter and remove the plugs and cover the tips to stop spark..turn the engine over to blow gas from the cylinders using a rag to catch the fluid...now to the fix..either take the carb apart and clean all the parts but there is no way to know if this will happen again..this has happened to my Husky. The best and easy fix is to install a inline fuel shutoff valve..where you can get at it easily...Just shut it off and let the engine use up the carb fuel..and when you start it again turn on the shut off valve let it set until the carb gets full about ten seconds..then start the engine...just got to rmember to do this every time you shut it down...works well for me...good luck.

Every time i start my dirt bike it starts then shuts off

You likely have a dirty carb. Take it off and clean it. If you don't have the skills take it to someone who does. Things to look for include a needle and seat obstruction, the float not set at the proper height. You might also need to flush your tank out and clean the fuel lines. If the engine starts easily and then shuts off it sounds like there is no fuel getting to the engine. You let it sit, and the fuel fills back in to the carb bowl, but not enough fuel getting there to sustain the engine so it dies. Hope this helps. There are things you should have told in your description like: Whether it starts easily at first, how long does it run, does it start back up after dying right away or do you have to wait, is there any other symptoms like excess smoke; sputtering, noises, etc.

99 escort fuel pressure slowly drop to 0 after shutting off. turns over longer before starting. What holds fuel pressure after shutting off?

Hi Rusty, The fuel pressure is regulated by a special device on the end of the fuel rail. (That is the fitting on top of the injectors and carries the fuel under extreme pressure) If the regulator is leaking it will allow fuel to by pass and return directly to the tank. You can check it by squeezing the rubber fuel return pipe with pliers while the engine is running, or before starting. Crank the engine until it starts and then clamp before turning off. Restart the engine and if it starts easily you'll have located the defective part. Regards Johngee10

WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE CAR IT STARTS TO SLOW DOWN HAS NO POWER BUT WOULD EASILY STARTS EVERYTIME IT SHUTS DOWN, ONE PERSON SAID HAS TO DO WITH THE FUEL [PUMP

Does it drive for a little while before it shuts down? If so it could be the catylitic converter. If a converter gets cloged up it will cause to much back pressure and the engine will bog down.

I have a roll air compresor its the weelbarrow type gas powerd wen i start it it fills up then it shuts off it will start again wen tanks are empty and the prosses has to be repited over an over

The pilot valve controls the pressure, idles the engine when set pressure is obtained and releases compressed air thru small vent while the engine is idling. If the idle is set too low, the engine may stall. Try increasing idle speed and make sure that when set pressure is reached that air is venting from pilot muffler vent. The pilot valve can be easily tested. With engine off and pressure in tank, flip the pilot valve start lever up then down. When flipped up, the throttle control shuld activate idle and the pull rope should be easy to pull. With lever down, throttle is pulled on engine and compressor is loaded making the rope very difficult to pull. If the engine stalls with air in the tank flip lever up to easily start engine then down to pump. Good holidays

Honda GC190 engine shuts down on my Karcher 3000 PSI PW

Well would you believe that I have the very same problem. I suspected that the pump was seizing up, so we tried the pump on another unit and it worked fine. On inspection of the motor we found the cam (which also operates the decompression mechanism) was worn out. It's made of hard plastic. It is only about 7 dollars too, so cheap enough to fix. I have mine ordered now and feel pretty confident that that should fix it.
