I have purchased a Fujifilm s200EXR camera & when I try to open RAW files, even though the files are RAF files, which was the same as the FS100, I can't open them. I have downloaded the latest RAW update, but still no joy. Can u help me?

I have firmware 1.02 but it still doesn't work

  • jules728 May 03, 2010

I have already updated my cameras firmware as suggested. My version is 1.02. But I still cant process my Raw files.

  • jules728 May 03, 2010

I don't know how to do that, do I do it in finepix or what? I shoot RAW+jpeg & so get both but I want to be able to open the RAW images in Camera Raw otherwise whats the point of having them???

  • jules728 May 04, 2010

    I have uploaded a filehttp://www.mediafire.com/file/dqwmmymn0f...
I currently store my images, once they are uploaded from camera, in Adobe Bridge, from there I used to be able to click on them and they would automatically open in Camera Raw which comes with photoshop, I could then make adjustments & open in photoshop itself. Since I have brought the fuji s200EXR when I click on the file it says it is an unrecognized format, even though it is still a RAF file.
Hopefully this explains a bit better what I am trying to do.
    Thanks
    Julia

Hi, I checked in the list of compatible devices, and I am sorry to say that Fujipix S200EXR is not in the list.

You can see more details from this link : http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/cameraraw.html

You can't open the file because the last Hyper-Utility software update was corrupted or it isn't the latest version available. Better to do a fresh start.
Uninstall the present one, delete manually all remaining Fuji files and folders, run a system/registry cleaner if you're using Windows.
Download  (as in Save, not Run) the latest update from
http://www.fujifilm.com/support/digital_cameras/software/hyper_utility/hsv2_3/index.html
then follow the instructions corresponding to your OS.

Try to change the Size of the images to the camera specifications.

4000x3000, 4000x2664, 4000x2248, 2816x2112, 2816x1864, 2816x1584, 2048x1536, 2048x1360, 1920x1080

then also change the File format to the following:

Exif 2.2 JPEG (Compressed), CCD-RAW, RAW+JPG

Just a question. What you are doing is opening an image file that you took a picture of on a computer or are you opening a picture you got from a computer on your camera?

If you are opening an image on your camera what you need to do is resize them and save as Exif 2.2 JPEG (Compressed), CCD-RAW, RAW+JPG. You can do that in Photoshop or GIMP.

What we could do is for me to check the real format that your camera is using. If you may be able to take a picture and upload the image for me to download and also a sample of the picture you would like to save on your camera for viewing. You can upload the pictures on http://www.mediafire.com/ and send me the URL or the address that would be stated there like the html link or address.

If you only tried importing to the program straight from the camera, you could try to import the pictures, using a card reader or by copying the files to the computer before importing into the program.

Why does my fujifilm finepix s5000 camera say memory card is full when it is empty ?

RAW format uses enormous file sizes. Smaller memory sticks will be used up with just one single picture when using the RAW format. You're confirmed this when you said it only happens when you use RAW format. You need to use a larger memory stick, if you want to use the RAW format.

I accidently deleted my images from the fujifilm finepix av100 camera, can i get them back. please help

First of all, do not save any new file to camera's memory card.

Take out memory card, and connect it to computer using a card reader. You should see memory card shown as a drive letter (like H:) in Windows Explorer.
Download this photo recovery software

Install and open asoftech photo recovery software, select the memory card, and click 'Start' button.

We took pictures on our Fujifilm finepix S100 in raw format. We now cannot download these pictures to our mac computer. Help please. Our camera is a finepix s100fs

Raw files of any type can be a problem if you don't have a program to open them but, they should download to the computer the same as a jpg file format. Are you attempting to download from the camera to the computer or do you have a card reader plugged into a USB port? Image software such as Photoshop has the ability to open and work with RAW files also with the S100fs when it was bought is a "FinePixViewer" and a program to be able to edit the files. I can't use the Fuji RAW editor because it clashed with another program and I had to remove it. I use PhotoShop CS3 for my RAW files from the Fuji S100fs. Aside from all this it shouldn't stop you from creating a file folder for your image in "Documents" and placing those images in there for future use or editing. If you can download jpg then RAW should be no different.

.raf is Fuji's raw format. Are you shooting in raw on purpose? If so, Photoshop Elements 8 or Adobe Lightroom 3 can open them. Otherwise, shoot jpeg from now on.
