Question about Kodak LENS ADAPTER 49 TO 55MM Lens Adapter, Flash Mount FOR Z612 DIGITAL CAMERA (8379166

1 Answer

Vivitar lens to Pentax K-x camera adapter.

I’ve recently purchased the Pentax K-x SRL digital camera and was wondering if I need an adopter to use these VIVITAR lenses:

VIVITAR 80-200MM 1:4.5 MC ZOOM NO. 28233500 æ58MM

VIVITAR 75-300MM 1:5.6 CLOSE FOCUSING ZOOM MC NO.77208170 æ58MM

Do I need an adapter? If so, can you tell me which one?

It depends which camera they were originally designed for use upon. If they are M42 lenses, then yes, but without any automatic facilities whatsoever - if not, then it is unlikely.

SOURCE: how can i use a

Couldn't find anything on this on the net, so my suggestion is to take the lens and camera by a Camera Repair Shop and they'll be able to tell you. They're the ones that deal with this, and will know.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

I HAVE A SOLIGOR 2X CONVERTER AND I NEED A NIKON ADAPTER IS SUCH A THING AVALIBLE

There are a lot of adopter rings available. But most will turn the combination into a MF lens. Most non Nikon tele convertors, only can be used in MF when put on a Nikon camera, so I don't think you lose a lot when you find a Soligor Nikon adopter ring.

Vivitar screw mount lens, Nikon D-80 camera. Is there an adapter for this?

The M42 mount was used by several camera manufacturers, most notably Pentax. Nikon is not one of them.
Vivitar made many lenses with a T-mount. This consists of a screw mount on the lens and a suitable adapter, depending on the camera body. This allows a lens to be used with different cameras simply by changing the adapter.
If your lenses are T-mount, then yes, there are adapters available. One source is here.
Be aware that you'll probably lose any metering capability when using any lens with this adapter. You'll have to use a separate light meter or else view the resulting picture on the display and adjust the exposure appropriately.

I have a Pentax K20d DLSR camera. I ordered a Vivitar/Lino 75-205mm f/3.8 lens with Pentax K Mount. The lens will not work, and i receive a error message of (F--) in the LCD panel. What can I do?

If the lens has an "A" setting, be sure that's where you have it set. Clean the contacts on the lens and camera body where they meet with a cotton swab lightly dampened with rubbing alcohol.

How to mount Minolta AF 28-80/3.5-5.6 on pentax

Unfortunately, it is not possible to mount Minolta lenses on a Pentax K mount camera and retain either auto-focus, metering, or the ability to focus at infinity.
The reason for the loss of the ability to focus at infinity is because the distance from the mount to where the image forms on a Minolat lens is 43mm, whereas on a Pentax it is 46mm, so the Minolta lens glass would need to be 2mm into the body of the Pentax camera in order for the image to form on the sensor (i.e. have a clear image that is in focus).
The only solution to this is to purchase an adapter with an optical element such as this: http://photo-adapter-llc.amazonwebstore.com/Zykkor-Minolta-MD-Lens-to-Pentax/M/B004PB8142.htm?traffic_src=froogle&utm_medium=CSE&utm_source=froogle This will allow you to focus at infinity, however you will have to use stop down metering and manual focus, as the electrical contacts will not connect. Also, you can expect a slight loss of image quality when using an adapter.
I personally have a few Minolta lenses that I have wanted to use on my Pentax, so I understand your pain. It is a shame they don't work better.
Thank you for using FixYa!

I have 2 quantaray lenses which I brought with my 35mm SRL are these lenses compatiable with Digital SRL cameras???

Which type of lens mount, what digital camera.
Nikons will fit older Nikon lenses.
Canon it seems only fits AF lenses
Olympus digital only takes their own new mounts.
Minolta lenses will fit the new Sony/Minolta digitals.
Pentax digital will take any K-mount or older thread mount. Need to change some menu setting though. Need a K to 42mm for the thread mounts.
Mounts are all different, so a Canon won't fit a Nikon, Sony or Pentax and vise versa.

Lens adapter

No. Unless the lens has a generic T-mount with a Minolta adapter. In that case you can replace the T-mount with a Pentax adapter.

How do I know what size lenses to look for?

Hi rlopez117,

Congratulations on the aquisition of such a great vintage camera!

Pentax cameras use a mount known as M42. This means it is a 42 millimeter diamater. You may also find this referred to as the Pentax mount, as Pentax (Asahi Optical) made this popular in the United States. With any camera, any lens you purchase should match the mount of the camera in order to be used together.
