Batteries are fully charged and work in the circ. saw that came with the combo set. I took it apart the brushes look fine(no corrosion)but there are 2 wires that go to the back of the motor and looks like the casing around the wire has wore off from the tight space and maybe shorted out on the motor housing. Make sense? Just a shot in the dark. How do you check the trigger?

It Is a hammer drill, and it's not stuck between gears, it changes gears quite easily. I'll check the transistor....hopefully. I already taped the wires and tried that with no success. Thanks.

When you take the drill apart there is a field and gen set or stator and rotor. wich have brushes that make contact with the rotor. they are spring loaded and its possible that they have lost contact from corrosion build up. do this only if you have made sure its not the batt, trigger,or stuck between gears. simple solutions first

Are the batteries fresh? How about the switch? Is it in the right position? I can't believe the motor has died. Even a dead battery will spin it a little. Check that out and let me know what you find.

Is it a hammer drill? Is the gear in the right position.? The wire sounds like a good bet, If it is shorting out, put a piece of tape on it and see. Sometimes in between the battery and switch there is a little resistor, I had the same problem with a black and decker, we cut the resister out and soldered it back together,,it worked fine. Of course we don't know what we did, or how long it will last, but,,,, Check out the wire, then the resistor, you can buy the things at radio shack. Hope this helps.

Bosch cordless drill not working.

First The model is pretty new. you need to register your tool on line. this takes you from a one year warranty to a three year warranty. They will give you a pro-vantage number. with that said it sounds like a trigger switch. Yhe trigger switch is the brain of your tool. not only does it do your variable speed but it also controlls the brake and your fuel gauge. Because of the cost I highly recomend taking it to your closes Bosch service center.

My 12 volt Ridgid drill just quit alltogether. I know it,s not the battery or charger as I have an identical drill and it works just fine. This drill takes the small cartridge type battery. Any...

To start, I assume you took the "good" battery from the working drill and tested the inoperative drill.
Good for doing that.
The other causes I know of in Drills that turn them into paper weights are as follows:
1 Worn Brushed: You can attempt to test this by squeezing the assumed good trigger button and
Taping the drill or lightly banging it on a bench top or something else. If it is brushes, it will often but no necessarily all the time, start to run for a moment, or just running. Since you use the drill and "use it a lot" That will be the first thing I would look for.

2 Trigger Button.

I would bring it to a tool service place or send it back to Ridgid. Try this link

Hope this helps, Happy New Year

Stopped working in mid drill. squeeze the trigger, nothing happens

It could be a dirty switch connection in the trigger assembly , it happens to me on my electric sanders all the time , just open it up and try blowing it out with an air compressor

Hammer drill only works when you tap on it with a hammer

Yes, check the brushes on the motor, see if they can be replaced - I don't know your drill, but some can be checked without pulling the case apart - look for a round slotted cover on the sides near the rear of the drill

Re: Burned trigger switch: call the number on the drill (800.590.3723) and tell them what happened. They will offer to send you a new switch or have you send the drill in for replacement of the switch--although the person I talked with said they would probably just replace the whole drill.
