There should be a couple of screws on the side that have icons or letters, one is for slow or low speed jet and the other is for fast or high speed jet, take a little screw driver and open up the high speed jet with it running, till it gets going, if it slows down, you are going the wrong way. Sometimes it will say something like 1 1/4, that means that the starting point is 1 1/4 turns out from closed. Try it, hope this helps.

New Ryobi trimmer putters out at full throttle

Absolutely it can. Weight can slow it down, Friction can slow it down,. There are many things that will do exactly what you are talking but the #1 thing would be a Gummed up Carburator. EVERYONE is having the same problems right now.

Turns over slow, backfires , then starts.replaced battery, starter is ok. replaced plugs. what else?

If the unit runs normally after it starts it is probably a defective coil that isnt changing timing relative to crank speed. It is running advanced even at slow speeds and that is the backfire. You could also have a slightly bent flywheel key. This is what sets the primary timing so it is always a good idea to check it when you have the engine cover off!

The owners manual for my Ryobi 210 describes carburetor adjustment but the photos do not show which screw is the idle mixture adjuster.

The Low speed adjustment screw is the one marked as "L" and would be adjusted during:
1. Idle - to insure running smoothly, and
2. Acceleration - to transition from Idle to High Speed.

The High speed adjustment screw is the one marked as "H" and would be adjusted during:
1. High speed or Wide Open Throttle. Turn about 1/8 either way to gain top RPM's and then back off slightly.

The final screw is an Idle Set screw. This screw sets the actual speed of the Idle and is the screw attached to the end of the throttle cable as it terminates at the carburetor. Turning it:
1. Clockwise - increases RPM's (speeds up motor)
2. Counter Clockwise - reduces RPM's (slows down the motor)

Carnt keep ryobi pcn 4545 running when i increse the power

How do you increase the power to an electric saw? By your question, I'm assuming a fueled engine model. Check the fuel filter, air filter, and muffler for any plugging. Check condition of fuel lines and tightness of carburetor fasteners. If no help, turn the H jet needle CCW about 1/4 turn--which should result in the engine 4-stroking. Will the engine now run at speed (but not as fast as before)? If ok, warm the engine up, open the throttle and adjust H CW until the engine speeds up somewhat, but still 4-stroking. Proper adjustment is when the engine 4-strokes, but immediately 2-strokes when cutting. This produces best power and least heat! Hope this helps!

I have a 31 cc ryobi weed eater start for about

I think a new carburetor kit and a good carburetor tune up is in order my friend. Sounds like it's starving for gas. If it bogs down after warm up when you throttle it, then yes it needs a carb tuning. The L screw is the low side screw and should be turned in lightly until it seats then back it out one and quarter turns (1 1/4). The H screw is your high speed screw. Also, turn it in lightly until it seats, then back it out approximately a 3/4 turn. With these settings the unit should start and may even stay running. Again, if it bogs when throttled, while running turn the L screw out a little more maybe only 1/16th of a turn and then try it again. If it does rev then you'll have to adjust the H screw in about a 1/16th of a turn. But make sure you only do this after the engine has warmed up.

Hope this works, good luck

Ryobi lawn trimmer keeps stalling out. I have

If it is a relatively new unit it should have the carburetor adjusted after the first few hours of use. If it stalls upon accelleration the low speed adjustment on the carb needs to be opened a little bit. If it runs a few minutes and then stalls it could be the high speed jet needs to be opened or the fuel filter is clogged.

Ryobi 540A need manual runs slow/ chain too tight?

Actually, I own one of these battery operated Ryobi chain saws too. It is normal for the saw to run slow. Remember it is battery powered, not gas, so its not going to be a high rpm saw. Be patient whit it, and you'll get about 4-6 cuts per battery. I take mine camping. It sure is nice not having to listen to a two-stroke while relaxing in the woods! Dont plan on cutting lots of stuff, either, or you'll burn up the motor. This thing works great for very mild workloads.

Ryobi RLT30HT hard to start, won't tick over

Hi
On the rotochoke scale, between the run and half choke position there is a hole and in it there is a screw. This adjusts the idle. Turn clockwise to speed up, anticlockwise to slow down
