Question about Refrigerators

2 Answers

I am having a problem with my GE refrigerator (model # GSH25JFRF BB). The ice and water despencer will not work half the time. Sometimes it works fine other times when you press the despencer the despencer light grows dim and nothing happens. There is a clicking in the back of the refrigerator on the left side if you are facing the front of the refrigerator. Sometimes it will clikck for a long time and nothing will work even the condenseor. Then later everything will work for awhile.

This problem affects everything. The compressor won't run until the clicking stops. Sometimes I have to unplug the refrigerator and replug it in the clicking will continue for a minute or so then the compressor will start and the ice and water despncer will work for awhile then it will start doing it again.

Is this more than the icemake because it will stop the compressor will not run. I took the back panel off to expose the mother board I heard the clicking at the bottom right side. I unpulged the white socket that had about six or seven wires in it and repluged it and the compressor started. what is wrong?

Check the water inlet for clog, also check to see if you're fitting the filter right. the part where you have to press to release the filter should come back to it's normal position when you insert the new filter.

Thank you and good luck!

The ejector seems stuck or blocked as indicated by the clicking sound and the dimming of the dispenser light. The ice dispenser motor draws more current causing the light to dim.

Perform the service diagnostics of the ice maker and observe if the clicking sound and the dimming of the light occurs during the harvest cycle. Turn off the ice maker through the power switch then turn it on again. Push the feeler arm from the "OUT" position to the "IN" position and back again 3 times and only 3 times within 15 seconds.

While in the harvest cycle in the service mode, the heater will remain ON fro at least 20 seconds. The water fill cycle will initiate the first fill without waiting the mold to pre-chill. The ice maker will exit the service diagnostic test on its own and enter the normal freeze cycle.

Replace the ice maker, part number WR30X10093, if the clicking sound and the dimming of the dispenser light continues. Look on the right side of the ice maker inside the freezer near the top then loosen the 2 screws about half of an inch and lift the ice maker off the screws to access ice maker wiring harness and disconnect it.

Replace the ice maker to solve the problem or turn it off and stop using it.

The compressor and the ice maker operates on the same circuit and any electrical or mechanical failure in the ice maker that causes it to **** almost all, if not all, of the current in the circuit will definitely make the compressor work. The unplugging resets the failure and makes it work again for a moment.

One simple way to figure it out if is it really the ice maker that is causing the trouble is by isolating the ice maker from the rest of the circuit. Turn off or remove the ice maker and let the refrigerator run without it. You can then conclude that it is more than just the ice maker, or not at all, if the refrigerator and the freezer still stop working and the problem does not cease to exist. But if it runs perfectly without the ice maker, then it is more than certain that the ice maker is indeed faulty and causing the whole machine to fail.

Please reconsider accepting and rating the solution if it turns out that it is indeed correct.

definitely make the compressor not to work. The unplugging resets the failure

Water dispenser not working

Should have posted the model number, based on your issue, it sounds like a intermittent water valve, should be replaced,a bad dispenser switch, or a faulty relay on the main board.

GE GSH25JFRF BB ice maker doesn't dispense. Water dispenses and ice maker makes ice but won't come out.

There should be a plastice hinge cover on the left top hinge on freezer door. Take it off and press the plug together firmly. Try that and let me know, Sea Breeze

Ice/Water despenser Problem- not working(no lights on the button)

Replace the main control board . Pt # WR55X10942 is the part number . The dispenser board has lost communication with the main board . The main control board is behind the refrig , behind the small 8X10 inch panel . There are 6-8 group plugs which will only fit in perspective plugins , so this board is easily replaceable . Cost of board is about $150.00 .
