Paper stuck while printing on lexmark X5470

Leading cause of paper jams is debris / foreign objects that accidentally fell into the paper feed area. Please try this approach to fix the problem:

1. Remove the sheets of paper from the feeder.
2. Grab a flashlight and look inside the feeder for any debris or foreign objects.
3. If you're willing and physically able, you may also carefully turn the printer over. Any debris should just freely roll out from the feeder.
4. If feeder is clear, place the printer on the table. Open the printer cover and remove the cartridges.
5. Check the cartridge area for any obstructions in the paper path.
6. Close the printer cover.
7. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - the black box where the power cord is plugged into. Re-plug after 30 seconds.
8. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and load some paper. Try to print again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Most probably a mechanism problem. Try to remove all sheets of paper. Take out the cartridges from the printer. Close the cover. Unplug the power supply from the printer. The power supply is the black box behind the printer where the power cord is attached. Check for any obstructions or foreign objects in the feeder. Wait at least 30 seconds before plugging the power supply back in the printer. Once printer is ready, reload the cartridges. Load about 10-15 sheets, don't load too much. Let it print the alignment page. If this doesn't help, then most probably it's a hardware issue. If this is the case, I strongly suggest you contact Lexmark Technical Support to further investigate the problem.

Hi, Look at the paper path for any obstruction or loose pickup roller. The paper might be old and have moisture replace with fresh paper and try again. Hope this helps.

Annie, did you try to feed it one paper at a time? in many printers the feeder doesn't do a good job separating one paper from the rest.
another thing you can do is to turn off the printer and back on. this might get it out of the stuck status it is in.
did you check there isn't any paper stuck in the feeder?

In this Case take out the Paper from the Paper Feed Tray........ Unplug the Power Supply from the Printer.......... Remove both the Cartridges from the Printer.......... Now take a size 10 Envelope fold it so that it should become like a thin long strip........ Now Insert that Envelope on the left side corner of the Printer and move it from right to left and left to right as fast as u can for about 10 times.......... Now Insert the Ordinary Papers onto the Printer and insert both the catridges and Turn on the Printer......

Firstable, you need to remove these pieces of paper from your printer. It is possible just removing a part of the printer located in the back or the bottom of it. Then you need to know that if you want to print on an envelop, it's necessary to format the printing settings. Just go to printing format and choose envelop
and also the dimensions of the envelop you want to print, then after this it'll be simple.

The same thing happened to me once. Try looking near the cartridges and where you input the paper, there might be an item stuck which makes it hard to print or load the paper. When that happened to me, i noticed that there was a pencil stuck in mine. I ended taking it all apart in the end, but that is only because someone forced it in there. In the end, it worked!


If that doesn't solve the problem, try contacting the manufacturer.

had this problem also try looking for a tiny piece of torn paper in the feed wheel and remove the snag

When print jobs are stuck in the print que like this I would check your firewall software to insure that the correct things are "allowed" access.
