I dropped my Nikon Coolpix s230 and the orange piece that held the battery is missing so the camera won't turn work. How can I fix it?

Hi, thats called the battery hold or leg. The camera still should power on without it, it is just
used to hold the battery in place while you swap out memory cards. Try to power on the unit
with the door open while holding the battery in place with your finger to see if the battery hold is truly the problem. If it powers on then you can probably find a replacement battery hold
on Ebay or Ecrater for fairly cheap. The problem is installation, its fairly involved and would
require complete disassembly. I could give you the disassembly steps once you get to that point.

I am missing the peice that holds the battery in place, and the camera will not turn on. Any suggestions?

You could try wedging something between the battery and the side of the compartment to hold it in place. Leave a tab so you can pull it out.

Hello bahamut_xero: My name is Roger and I will help. You must remove the battery hold down bolt. It will be located on engine side of the battery box at the bottom of the battery tray. Will need a 13 mm. socket, extension and ratchet to take the bolt out.
Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer as this way I know it was useful. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger

I had this problem, and ended up having to do a Master Reset. If possible, back up any data on the phone prior to doing this because you will lose all contacts, etc.

You can perform the master reset by removing and and the Sim Card then re-installing the battery. Open up the slider and hold the S and L keys on the QWERTY keyboard. While holding these keys, turn the phone on. Continue to hold the S & L keys until you receive an 'error missing sim card' screen. (It still took a while to progress beyond the AT&T screen...don't give up...it gets through it eventually.) After you get the missing sim card error message, turn the phone off, remove the battery, re-insert the sim card, re-install the battery, and then turn the phone on normally.

It will now behave like a brand new phone, without any of the data saved.

I need to remove the car battery from a 1996 960 volvo sw.

moz-screenshot.jpgThe hold down bolt is a @ 10inch long think bolt with an eye/thumbscrew at the top next to the front of the battery. Mine was severed at the level of the battery top by electrolytic corrosion, so the top was missing.

I removed it with small vice-grip pliers but it was hard to reach in the confined space. This is the replacement part I found on line

Missing AUX 2 after changing car batterie

hold the SRC button until the stereo turns off. Hold in on the function button (or volume knob) until the setup menu turns on... once it comes up, you can scroll thru selections with the volume knob and turn them on and off by clicking in on the knob. AUX2 will be one of those settings.
