About a week ago my HP Pavilion DV4000 couldn't pick up my wireless linsys G router and said that no wireless connections were found. I had to use a wireless B card I had lying around but still having intermittent problems getting on to the Internet. I get messags like would I like to use XP network connection on the Linsys. You are using a B wireless adater on windows XP computer.
Tere might be adapter utility installed on your computer. You can use that software to connect to the wireless network or you can switch over to windows software to connect.
It will be better if you use the WINDOWS XP to connect to the network.
Check the wireless settings of the router also.

Getting laptop connected to web-not Int. Explorer 8 issue

In order to get her connected legally, you will have to set up your own wireless network. This will require a broadband connection of some sort (DSL or Cable modem) and a wireless router. Your ISP or the routers tech support should be able to help you with basic configuration.

Wireless reception has degraded almost completely

this may not be a good solution but yeah you have to coz maybe your wireless network card is getting too much "noise/interference" from any other sources.

My hp pavilion dv4000 has a conflict with ip addresses and it cannot connect to the my linksys wireless network, it keep trying to acquire the network address but it never connects. please help me it has...

An IP confict means that another computer has the IP that your laptop is trying to attain.
Open a command prompt by going to start>run
Type cmd in the box and then click ok.
In the box that opens up type:
ipconfig /release
it will come back with zero.
then type;
ipconfig /renew
It should pick up a new address.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

HP Pavilion dv4000- Can't connect to wireless internet

Is your chipset wireless network program taking over?
Often an internal system program will take priority when connecting to wireless networks.
Think of it like siblings who squabble over attention.

If you can find any other programs which are acting in this manner, I'd suggest telling them "do not use this when connecting" and then see if you can then use your main program.

Also - is your network secured and / or hidden? Did you reset your router? Sometimes this helps, too. =D

Laptop not picking up Wireless Routers

Firstly check that it is installed by going into Device Manager.
Goto START - SETTINGS - CONTROL PANEL - SYSTEM - DEVICE MANAGER
Look at the list, If you see your card there with a yellow question mark, or a red exclamation mark then it has an issue.
Firstly unistall the device by right clicking it and select Unistall.
Then reboot and Windows will detect the card again and reinstall the drivers for it.

Check back in Device Manager to see if it is still the same. If so, it is possible it is a hardware failure and would need to be replaced.

Beofre you get to that stage though, turn off the laptop, remove the card (it will be underneath under a panel and will have 2 wires connecting to it) then put it back in making sure to push it into the slot correctly. You do not need to remove the wires to do this, and the card does not need to come all the way out.

Post back if you are still having issues.
