Question about Philips HD-5661

1 Answer

I have recently acquired an unused HD5179 Espresso & Cappuccino Bar machine. When I turn it on and hold down the button to aerate, it works away for a few seconds then blows the house fuses. I have not attempted to make coffee as yet.

Nespresso latisimo plus 4 lights keep flashing when switch on and just switches off?

Try pressing and holding all four buttons down, then, while still holding the four buttons down, turn the machine on with the power switch. This should return the machine to its factory settings. If you've had the machine for a year or more it may need descaling, but the Cappuccino button usually glows orange when this is necessary. Hope this helps - good luck!

Hello. I have a Saeco Magic Cappuccino Plus machine, which should be similar to the Saeco Magic Cappuccino machine that was occasionally discussed on FixYa. My machine was working OK until yesterday. I hit...

Yes. The thermal fuse is incased in a browish/red cover and is held on to the boiler by a clamp that holds the thermostats on. Slide the fuse out from the clamp and slide the cover off the thermal fuse. Test with a ohms meter. If its bad you should get no reading. You can get a new 182c thermal fuse from Radio Shack, electronics store, or appliance store. If no luck there online espresso machine retailers like Seattle Coffee Gear, Whole-Latte-Love, 1st-Line should be able to help you. Do not try to solder the new fuse in. It has to be crimpwed on or it will blow again.

Water button orange light appear even after descaling

I had the same problem too.
Do repeat the descaling with water only. After the descaling the Lattissima shuts down. Just wait some time after shutdown before restarting the Lattissima again. The orange light will be turned off.
Hope this helps you too!

Hi the cappuccino button pushed only goes for a few seconds and stops before you have to push it over and over again to get the job done. What can I do to correct this problem

There is a program in your menu for the cappuccino that can be turned off so it will go al long as you want.
You might try also holding the button down and see if it will go longer? Some buttons are programmable by holding the button down until you get the amount you want, then release it.

My Saeco Royal Cappuccino Coffee machine says "refill water tank' when it is already full. I only use filtered water and have descaled the machine. How can I fix this?

This sounds like the water sensor needs replaced //Also make sure the inside float is not stuck in the down posistion!
I hope this helps!

The touch lift drip tray is broken its the plastic shaft that holds it together so its unusable.. I think someone lifted the machine by the lift tray or the shipper put the box upside down and it broke.......

The entire machine need to be taken apart to repair the auto drip tray. I would reccommend a Authorized Service Center to replace the tray. It is again not a simple fix.
