Pc doesn't start up

If nothing happens at all it sounds like a power problem, check the fuse in the mains plug, check for an on/off switch on the back of the computer, if neither of these are your problem then it may be a faulty power supply or simply a faulty switch on the front. Hope this helps.

When i power up my Acer M3400, everything loads then after the 'welcome' windows part the screen goes black and i can only see the mouse cursor? I tried to restart but nothing happens. It keep

Not sure, but try loading Safe Mode by pressing F8 during boot and lowering screen resolution. In Safe Mode you can even run System Restore. It load to a previous date that you choose.

No mouse for my echines

The best option it to purchase or borrow another mouse. I'm sure a neighbor, friend, relative or co-worker has a spare mouse.

You could try booting into Safe Mode and see if it will go to your desktop without a mouse. If so you'll have to use the keyboard shortcuts to get around.

Turn off the computer, then hit the power button to turn it back on and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see SAFE MODE. Take the Safe Mode With Networking option (this will give you internet connectivity) and let it boot up. Safe Mode will look different to you, the screen will be darker and the icons bigger, this is normal.

Why does my mouse automatically scrolls up or down on my screeen

Your mouse might be bad or you could have a virus or infection that has hijacked your mouse. Boot up into safe mode and see if the mouse is ok. Then download and install MalwareBytes and run a Quick Scan.

When it boots up, open your internet browser and download and install MalwareBytes and run a Quick Scan.

Go to www.google.com and in the search box type: "Download cnet Malwarebytes" (without the quotes). Download and install malwarebytes from the sites download.cnet/malwarebytes. When the site opens up click on the Green Download button on the left. Do not click the Red Download button, that's junk. When it finishes installing the Gui Interface will open up with an offer to Accept a Trial Version or Decline. CLICK DECLINE you want the totally free version. Run a QUICK SCAN. As it scans, if it finds infections the number will be in red. When it finishes scanning, click SHOW RESULTS. A notepad text document will open up showing you the results. You can close the text document and go back to the Gui Interface where you will click REMOVE SELECTED RESULTS. The objects will already be selected for you. When it finishes removing the objects click ok and it will sometimes reboot your machine.

If the above steps does not fix the problem:

Try another mouse and see if it scrolls.

When I use my restore dvd, everything goes well until it's time to name the computer. I can either type in a name and hit next or hit skip and the system just sits there with the choices greyed out. I can...

Very strange, when doing the system restore, make sure every single thing is plugged out of the back of your pc, only leave a keyboard and mouse, monitor and power . make sure the cd is ncie and clean and try again. but make sure every thing is plugged out

I have a microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse (model 1061) that was working fine. Somehow it has lost connection and neither works. How do i reconnect?

There should be a button on the wireless receiver. Hit that, and hit the buttons on the underside of both devices as well. That should sync them back up.

Mouse is not working

If it's a wired USB-type mouse: Unplug it and plug it back in. The computer will recognize it.

If it's a wired PS/2 (green plug): You're mouse is dead. Replace it.

If it's wireless: Check the batteries in the mouse. Hit the 'connect' button on the transmitter and then immediately hit the connect button (usually on the bottom). The red light on bottom will stop blinking and will be steady. It should work a few seconds after that.
