I have same problem with mine, the power button turns red (as usual) but no picture. When i turned mine on last night it made a crackle noise and thats how it all started. I can even hear the normal sounds it makes as if it were turning on, but still no picture. Its a great tv I would hate to throw away. I want to fix it myself any help would be appreciated!
It seems that your Pulse Width Modulation drive ic on power supply or high voltage section fails. This can be resolve by replacing the IC MCZ3001d that will be found on your power supply or at the high voltage section.(near Fly back transformer) If you have basics knowledge in electronics and soldering, you can easily fix it.
Hi,if you hear constant clicking or trying to turn on it could be your ballast. But if tv is between 1 yr -2 yrs maybe its time to replace the lamp. This will be the part number you need 915P061010 you can find it in discount-merchant to get the Philips lamps that normally last 2-4 yrs.God bless. The price will be around $129.99 you can replace it your self just put the part number 915P061010 on youtube and you'll see instructions to replace lamp.
The loud pop you heard was most likely a capacitor exploding. I beleve the capacitor is also located in the power supply section of your TV. If you take the back off of the set you will see what can be described as a exploded, or bloated can. This component can be replaced, but I advise you to have it done by a qualified TV technician. This is due to the fact that their may be other unknown factors as to why the capacitor exploded, and a qualified TV technician can determine these causes past the obvious changing of the defective component.
I hope this helps,
NOT EXPENSIVE POWER SUPPLY PARTS ARE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED . ONLY A TECH WHO , HAS EXPERIENCE ON THIS TV MODEL AND THE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM ,COULD FIX THE TV RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. OTHERWISE REPLACE POWER DEFLECTION BOARD ,PARTS AVAILABLE AT PARTSTORE OR SIMILAR COMPANIES
