Our tv turns off when turning the channel by remote and on the tv

Have you tried to unplug everything from your TV for a minute or so and changing the batteries in your remote? I had that problem once. After you do that, try to turn on the tv only with the remote and change the channel. If you are using more than one remote (i.e. a comcast cable remote and a tv remote at the same time the signals cross).

Battery leaked in my tv remote....changed batteries, clean debris from inside..it is not pretty clean...now it will not turn tv on or off, but will change channels, volume, etc. I just so happened to have...

Probably not, the PCBoard is possibly damaged are the carbonated buttons.
A replacement remote is fairly cheap as is a one for all with the required functions.
Such a waste I do agree.

CT-90157 Remote Control: change batteries does not turn on tv...

Hi there,

It is possible that you will need to re-program your remote control, it sounds as though the remote has lost it's settings. This can happen when changing batteries, usually a remote will retain the code for around ten minutes or so once the batteries have gone flat or have been removed, after that time it loses it's code. I assume the batteries are new so try re-programing the remote control for your tv with the correct code and hopefully this will work.

Hope this helps,

James

Can't get remote to turn on tv it will turn valume high & low but it won't change channels or turn tv on and off. can't manually change channels

Are you using the supplied remote with the TV.
Try Resetting the Remote.

First, remove the batteries from the remote.
Then, wipe the contact surface of the batteries.
Then, press each button on the Remote twice repeatedly.
Then, reinsert the batteries and check whether the issue is resolved.

Remote stuck--can't change channel or turn off TV

Pull out the power plug of your TV and don't use it for few minutes. Remove batteries from your remote and keep it without batteries for few minutes. After about 15 minutes your TV and remove both will work fine.
