Question about Sharp EL-2196BL Calculator

1 Answer

Paper/tape jam I was using my calculator not realizing that the tape was going back into the ink roller and it has rolled in three time around the ink roller. I cannot take the three layers of tape out. It almost looks like someone has to somhow take the roller out in order to pull the paper jam out.

Get a pair of scissor and cut through the tape. IF it is rapped up too tight where you can't get a pair of scissor through it, then get an exacto knife or razor blade to cut the paper. Just remember not to press too hard so you don't cut through the rubber roller beneath it.
After cutting the paper, then press the paper advance and start taking the pieces of paper out.
Good luck.
If you still have problems, feel free to repost again.
Have a good day.

If you can see the tape, I would still try to use an exacto Knife and try to slice through the tape and then press advance and try to remove the pieces one by one.

If the tape is stuck with the adhesive side on the roller, (UNPLUG THE MACHINE FIRST BEFORE WORKING ON ITI would get a chemical called "Goo Gone" (NOT to be mistake for GOOF OFF). Apply with a Q-tip and this should help loosen up the adhesive. Hope this works. Let us know. thanks

I need to order printing tape or paper for the P1-DH V. What is the item number for that? Thanks.

There is no specific item number for the printing paper for this model. You can buy any brand of paper rolls, but it must be 2 and 1/4" or 57mm wide. Just go to OfficeMax or Staples and just look for the paper rolls that are 2 and 1/4" wide. If you need a lot of them I would go to Costco, great deal on paper rolls

If you need a new to replace the ink roller the item number is CP-16

This should help you out

"We specialize in the repair and restoration of all your old typewriters, and we have a very large selection of parts and supplies. His son Danny handles most of the repairs now. They also repair the old fashioned adding machines and mechanical calculators. Around Christmas, he gives out toys to needy children and has helped organize the local Christmas parade in the past and such. The building he is in used to be a theatre back in the 1910s, and the fellow has photos of him with every coucilman and mayor, as well as Senators and national politicos from the early 60s to the present, on his walls."

I cant find where the ink cartridge is on the sharp EL-180P

Not familiar with your model but others I have serviced used an ink-impregnated roller rather than a ribbon; you may be looking for the wrong object. They were generally rolling directly on numeral roller.

I replaced the roll of paper and now it will not

The Casio DR-T220 does not use regular adding machine tape, it requires a thermal tape since it is a thermal printer. There is no ink or ink ribbon in this caculator, it is heat activated and it is the special paper that make the numbers appear. Thermal tape is available at all office supply stores.

How to ink Casio FR 1211 Printing Calculator

I have a Casio FR-1211 Printing Calculator and I have the same problem. I removed the roller and tried inking the roller with "Sanford's Roll-On Stamp Pad Inker". It works beautifully ! I don't know how long it will last, but for now the print is dark and clear.

How do i take out the ink thingy

You will need: 1 Replacement ink roll - Porelon PR42 Ink Roll (This roll will replace the black and red ink all on one roll) Available at OfficeMax or other supply stores.

You must first remove the clear plastic cover on top of the calculator (where the tape comes out). Remove the old ink roll. You will see on the roll where it says "pull up". It will pop out easily. Replace it with the new ink roll, it will just snap in place. Replace the clear plastic cover. It should now be ready to go!
