Why won't my drum pedal work anymore, it always has in the past? Is there a switch on the machine that might have been bumped?

Sometimes the sensor in the pedal goes bad.

There is usually a sensitivity setting that you might want to check in the unit as one of the user setable parameters.

I get a loud crack sound when I switch on the drum machine when I have it connected to the mixer

That would be normal - the order you power up equipment is very important. Always start with peripherals and work toward the power amp. Powering off is reverse - power amp first. You can also mute the mixer channel you're plugged into before powering up the drum machine but get into the habit of proper power sequence.

Sustain pedal does not work

Yamaha FC4 and FC5 sustain pedals are normally closed, sorry Fred. Roland is opposite. I suspect the P120 just needs to be reinitialized. Hold down top white key (C) while turning on power. Wait 3 seconds and then release white key. Should now be reset to factory spec. Always plug the pedal in before you turn it on. If it still doesn't work check it with a meter.

I Have a Yamaha dd55c electronic drum machine without the bass and Hi-Hat pedals. I am good with electronics and wondered how they are wired, or alternatively if they are available to buy from anywhere.

The pedals are domes with Piezo disc sensors. SImple two wire connection... the original pedals are really NOT very good... You might try to find regular pedals used for drum sets... they have a beater and sensor. They do cost a bunch.

My Alesis Sr 16 was working fine a month ago, I pulled it out again, and it just wont turn on. The adapter works fine (I tried powering a guitar pedal with it). Is there a battery or some easy fix I could...

While your test running a guitar pedal is a partial test, the SR16 takes more current than a guitar pedal so the test may NOT be conclusive. When troubleshooting, always check all possibiliities as one can be led on a merry chase and spend a lot of money.

First thing is to check the input power connection. Many of these don't get fully seated and fail to connect.

The most common thing is to use the wrong adapter. ALWAYS make sure the brand on the adapter MATCHES the device manufacturer OR verify the POLARITY voltage and current rating against that marked on the device. Unfortunately most of the power connectors seem to fit even though they are wrong ones and some have larger hole in the fitting than the pin and fail to contact.

There is likely a battery backup within that PROBABLY requires soldering to change. It should be good for at least 5 years. Usually it will NOT prevent the power from turning on.

The foot pedal no longer operates when plugged into the fill jack

The fact that the pedal works in the on /ff is not a complete exhoneration.

Due to certain possible failures the pedal can still be at fault. Test the resistance of the switch and leakage resistance.

The two inputs may have different electrical characteristics where one would tolerate a partially defective switch and the other would not.

Use an ohmmeter to test the pedal before drawing conclusion.

Dd 55 drum machine bass pedal has stopped working any ideas please.

MOST of these use a piezo disc pickup.

Other than replacement, first try to open the case and see if the disc has been knocked loose.

DO verify that the other one with the set will trigger the bass when plugged into the bass input... they are compatible triggering wise.

Frankly, these "pedals" are really hokey... could prpbably use one from a fancier drum set with a true pedal.
