Question about Canon PowerShot G9 Digital Camera

1 Answer

What do you do when sd card reads full and only has 4 pictures on it

What I would do is to immediately download the four pictures to my computer, then format the card in the camera. Then, if the card still doesn't work properly, I'd throw it away --- my pictures are too valuable to trust to flaky cards.

What happens when you format the card on the camera?

I have a Nikon D5300. I can see the photo count number increasing, but I cannot view the images and they are not going on the SD card. Where are they? The SD card is not full.

many small Nikon cameras have memory to store images ON THE CAMERA. If you have a memory card installed that the CAMERA CAN READ it will put images on the card. if the memory card is corrupted the camera will not use it.

First Backup all IMAGES on Memory Card to COMPUTER make sure you saved ALL images. This is IMPORTANT.

After you SAVED all images you PUT Memory card back in camera and FORMAT it (Format is in TOOL Menu that looks like a wrench)

Now if you can take an images and it saves to memory card you are done. To see if they go to MEMORY CARD. Turn off camera and remove MEMORY CARD and Check.

If it STILL does not work you may have a defective memory card.

What is the class of this card? 4 or 10

If on the card is no C with the 4 or 10 in it, it even can be worse. As you can see on the picture a Class 10 card sometimes only has a C with the 10 inside.
The 32 Mbyte card you show here, is an old SD card and in those days they only gave read and write speed in Mega byte / second, if it was a real good card. If it should be a class 10 card with say 40 Mb throughput a second you would have 0,8 seconds to completely fill the card.
In a modern photo camera with 12 or 16 M pix, it could hold 3 or 4 pictures and it would be full.

Mi pictures in my zte phone are not showing up why?

Hi,
You may have corrupted the SD Card. Try shutting down the phone and remove the card. then re-install, If you have another device that will read it try that. And of course go to your file folder and see if your SD card is visible. Also try another SD card. Hope this helps Let me know Thanks!

D60 has SD card full message but the SD card is brand new and formatted.

Have you tried using it in another device that reads/writes SD cards?
It's possible it is a counterfeit SD card. Some counterfeit cards don't work or are not the true capacity. If it it a name brand like SanDisk it will have a serial number. The counterfeit ones typically don't have serial numbers.

Memory full on SD card but still space left

FRIST, download the 83 pics u have and save them. your camera may be reading the internal memory. go to setup and change to sd card option. If that doesn't do it, and it's already looking at the SD card. Format the card. NOTE: see first line again!!!

I just got a samsung sensory pleasure nv3 i put a 4 gb memory card in it and it says memory full but the card is empty

Hi
Try formatting the SD card before using it.Also, check the storage destination of the pictures, could be they're storing on your camera and not in the memory card.Make the SD card the default storage device.

Hope it helps.

When taking a picture a message pops up that says "cannot be written to SD card"

Checks to make:-
1) Is there an SD card in your camera?
2) Is the SD card compatible with your camera?
3) Is the SD card write protected (Check notch top left hand corner of card)
4) Is the SD card full or nearly full?
5) Are you trying to write a file type (.raw) which is bigger than the capacity of the card or the remaining capacity on the card.

Hi, got new kodak camera and 4gb memory sd inside. i only took 8 pictures so far and said internal memory full. i dont understand why? i want to keep 8 pictures and it should be plenty as using 4gb and...

4GB "SD" cards are almost always actually SDHC (high capacity) cards. SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but they are slightly different electrically. Many cameras won't work with SDHC cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.

So your camera is not able to use the 4GB card, and is ignoring it and using internal memory only. That memory is tiny and won't hold many pictures, and when it is full, the camera cannot work at all. You need to delete the pics in the internal memory and get a memory card your camera can understand (2GB or less).

Display reads "images recorded in internal memory" but there are none and I can't take more than 4 pictures until the camera says the memory is full. Also the memory card says it is full after 7 pictures,...

hi, the memory card you are using is to small for the camera it has not got enough memory on it you need to get at least a 1gb memory card or 2gb memory this will then allow you to take between 500 and 1000 pictures the 16mb card you have in is not worth using it will only hold a couple of pictures so go to the well known auction site and buy a 2gb memory card of the same type such as sd card or micro sd or mini sd it should tell you on the 16mb card what type it is then just buy the same type but with either 1gb or 2gb or even 4gb of memory this will then let you take 1000s of pictures

the 16mb card is no good in your camera get a bigger card and your problem will be solved

let me know if you have any problems with the new card ok
