Model 21728 Hunter ceiling fan lights do not work

Model 21728 Hunter ceiling fan.
the fan itself responds to the remote. however when I went to turn on the light with the remote, there was a blue flash like a bulb burning out. After replacing the bulbs the lights still do not come on. Is there a fix for this?

Sounds like the remote receiver units (located where the mains connect to the fans) took a surge and have failed.

I have the same fan
Only try to turn the glass cover in the opposite direction that is posted for close. You will want to do this after the light has cooled. It tends to sieze when it lense heats up.
Good Luck

SOURCE: hampton bay ceiling fan , model # 55295

I had the exact same problem. To solve it, I had a friend hold the area of the fan that the globe screws into. I wore rubber dish gloves to get a good grip and pushed up slightly on the globe as I turned counter-clockwise. My friend held the other part and turned clockwise a little as well. It took a lot of pressure for it to finally come loose and then we just turned it about another 90 degrees and the globe slips right out of the groove.

I couldn't believe how hard this was to do.

My control won't activate the light on my Hunter fan. The light comes on via pull chain fine, and the control works the 3 speeds on the fan, but the light won't respond.

Check the wiring on your receiver to make sure the light wire is connected. You have to have the light on with the pull chain and then use the remote to turn it on/off.

Hunter ceiling fan fan is working but lights are not

Make sure light wire is connected at the ceiling & at the bottom. Otherwise it's probably the receiver. 1-888-830-1326 ( Hunter parts )

Hunter Quiet Breeze Model 21728, I have dual switch wiring and cannot match the wires in the owner's manual description with the wires that the unit have. Can anybody help - how to connect the wires?

The wires that should be in the light box (in your ceiling) should be red, black, and white. Red is typically for the light. Black is typically for the fan, and white is your neutral. The fan should have 3 different wires to connect.. They are likely color coded. The manual should explain which wire is for what...

Our fan light comes on all by itself in the night. the fan itself does not always respond to the remote, mostly when turning on. I had to replace 85112-02 a couple of times when the fan was new. Now what?

Your power is going off and back on during the night (that, or a poltergeist is pushing your power switch. :-). The Hunter 85112-xx is programmed to turn the light on when power has been off and is restored (this is so you can turn it off/on with the wall switch as well as with the remote). No way that I know of to get around this. I find it VERY annoying.

Hunter fan/light with remote installed turns on by itself

Many times this is caused by stray frequencies in the neighborhood. And, sometimes changing the frequencies on the remote and receiver reduce the occurrence.

But it sounds like this may not be the case, here. If not, the receiver in the fan is the culprit and should be replaced. No danger, just annoying.
