Your configuration might be wrong. If you have cable internet connection, you have to set your router to clone the mac address. If you have DSL connection that requires user name and password, you can use PPPoE and just put the user name and password that you use.

Computers have limited connection to linksys wrt54g although signal is full strength

Limited connectivity
If you get a 'Limited connectivity" on you wireless connection on your laptop, it means that the wireless card on your laptop probably did not get an IP address from the wireless router.
To fix this problem, right click on the wireless icon on the Task bar and then click Repair.
This will force the wireless router to issue a IP address to the wireless card on the laptop.
Also try resetting the wireless router by turning off the power to the wireless router for a few minutes and the boot up your computers.

Linksis router wont work help me out

First of all contact your isp and get your connection settings. If you are able to setup the router using the cd provided then good. If you are still having problems then go ahead and contact linksys (remember linksys charges for the support). I suggest get a technician to assist you in setting up.

Linksys WRT54GX4 loses internet connection

Not a problem, you have to consider maybe other devices and or networks competing/interferring with your network. If you know how to enter the Linksys router menu I would 1. change the frequency the router operates on 2. change the channel the router will use 3. change the default password to something else besides the default.

All of the settings for your router out of the box are at default, wonder how many other people are running the same thing in your neighborhood? I always change from the default, you may also be receiving interference from devices using the same freq/channel as your router. Changing these will eliminate those possibilities.

Don't forget to encrypt your network, that is most important.

Connecting 2 wireless routers

As a wi-fi technician, it is not recommended to extend the wireless signal using another wireless router. Having 2 wireless routers will just cause conflict to your wireless network. If you still have time, please replace the router with a Wireless Access Point (WAP54G). WAP is easy to setup. Just plug it to one of the ethernet port on the back of your router and run the setup CD that came with it, that's it. It'll extend your signal.

If your main concern is just extending your wireless signal to another far place outside your house, Wireless Range Expander (WRE54G) can also be used. It is a similar device like an Access Point but its signal extending capability is more powerful than Access Point. Its also easy to setup, just the setup CD that came with it.

You can also contact the Linksys toll free tech support # at 1800-3267114 if you wanna resolve the issue over the phone. Hope that helps.

-Regards

Help

check if you are getting a valid ip address (e.g. 192.168.1.x for linksys routers, not unless you changed the router's ip to something else) from your router. if so, try to disable any anti-virus software and firewall installed on your computer. if not, make sure that you are really connected to the wireless signal of the router. one common error message that'll let you know that you are not properly connected to the signal is "limited or no connectivity". if you're getting that message, try to disconnect and reconnect to your wireless signal and make sure that you are using the correct wireless security (network key) if you have enabled that on your router. it's also advisable to customized the wireless settings of your router to prevent interference from other wireless networks.
hope this'll help.
