If your dryer doesn't work at all, it could be because of problems with: 1. Power from the house Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in? If you plug something else into the outlet, does it work? If not, check for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker. 2. Door switch If the door switch or the door-switch actuator is defective, the dryer won't work and you need to replace the failed component. The switch is inside the dryer main housing near the door frame. Sometimes you need to raise or open the top or front of the dryer to reach the switch. 3. Thermal fuse On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse (a heat-sensitive fuse that blows if the dryer overheats) mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse is about an inch long. It's usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing.

If the fuse has blown, it has no continuity. When this happens, your dryer either just stops heating, or it doesn't work at all. Be sure to inspect the venting/heating system before replacing the fuse to put the dryer back into operation. (You can't re-set this type of fuse.)
Wiring Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, burns and the connection breaks. In this has happened to your dryer, you need to replace the power cord and the terminal block inside the dryer to which the wire is attached.

My white knight tumble dryer wont start

Nothing works or drum fails to turn (tumble dryers)
Ensure that the power supply to the dryer is switched on, the timer is set to the desired drying time and the door is correctly closed. If you have a condenser model, also check that the bottle is empty and is fully pushed into the machine.

The first thing to establish when troubleshooting the clothes dryer is whether the dryer will start or not. If it won't, start by checking the outlet and the circuit breaker. Is the dryer plugged in or has it tripped the circuit breaker? If the breaker has been tripped, flip it back on and try the dryer again. The drum should turn without a problem.
If both plug and breaker are fine, you'll need to inspect the door switch as you continue to troubleshoot the tumble dryer. When you close the door on the dryer, a plastic peg should click and operate the switch which allows the dryer to work. The peg might be bent or broken, in which case it won't connect with the switch. You can try to straighten the peg, but if it's broken, you'll need to replace it. If the peg is fine, the switch has probably failed and will need to be replaced.

Samsung Dryer Model DV339AE will not spin or heat just nothing

Get someone with an electric meter and start with the plug on the wall where it plugs in. See if you have ( 2 )110volt hot slots and one ground. If so, take the back panel off the dryer where the electric cord goes in, and again run the test. If that is good, take the machine all apart and begin testing each component to find the defective part.
Be blessed.

Maytag dryer 2003 was working great I took one dried load out put another in and started the dryer. Working just fine then I found a wet garment that I dropped so I opened dryer door added this item...

When your dryer won't start, it could be a number of problems from a broken door latch or start switch to an exhaust duct blocked by lint. It could even be a tripped circuit breaker or blown fuse.

The first step in troubleshooting any electrical appliance is to ensure that it is plugged in and receiving power. While dryer plugs do not come loose easily, it can happen.

For more troubleshooting tips, read Dryer won't start for possible causes, signs to look for and things you can do. I hope this helps!

Just dried a load of clothes and every thing worked fine. Put in another load to dry and says it is sensing. Nothing else happens

Here's a quick thing to try. Unplug the dryer, wait a minute and plug it back in. Try drying the clothes again. If this doesn't work, you will require troubleshooting from one of the category experts for dryers. Good luck.

Dryer will not turn on

This isn't really much to go on. Were there any other symptoms before it stopped working? There are many possibilities as to what's wrong. Some simple troubleshooting could solve your problem. Has the circuit breaker been tripped? Is the door closed all the way? Is it plugged in?

Hello. i can help you. begin by checking the power.

Power from the house Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in? If you plug something else into the outlet, does it work? If not, check for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.
