Try double click My computer than right click the drive you want than properties than recording tab and make sure that Enable CD recording to his drive is checked. If you have two CD-R drives only one can be enabled to record at a time.
Some things to think about, no all products (such as Nero or Roxi are set to be compatible with MS compatible products, Pioneer is a goos product but may noe be compadible with Roxio, try Windows Media Player this will tell you if it is Roxio or something else
I have two suggestions. 1.Use Magic Jellybean Keyfinder. This free software should find your Product Code, http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/ (Go to the right, and click on the red ->Download Latest Build)
2.Use Infra Recorder instead. It's a free CD/DVD burner software. I have used it for over a year, and got rid of Nero!
Information about Infra Recorder on Wikipedia.org, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infra_Recorder Infra Recorder homepage, http://infrarecorder.org/ (You can go to the right, and click on -> Screenshots, and check the user face of Infra Recorder. Go to the right, and click on -> Downloads, to download Infra Recorder)
I have an LH-20A1S, & I am using Roxio Easy CD
Creator 6; Yes, I know there are newer versions, but they all ****! Anyway, it USED to work just fine in recognizing DL DVD's W/the updates from Roxio's site. & now there is no option there for this size (8.5)w/in the actual Creator prog. Is it the drive? This JUST started happening recently. Any clue if it IS the drive? & if so, any idea what caused this? I've always used Lite-On's & have NEVER had this sort of prob before! & of course it is out of warranty, & a discontinued model to boot! standar DVD drives are real cheap inprice these days, but STILL I do't wanna have to buy an new one if I can 'fix' it. BTW, I have updated the latest firmware for this drive from Lite-On's site too, & it didn't resolve this issue either!
in window under my computer is your DVD writer shown as DVD-RAM drive, if not then re-instal the drivers for your DVD.
If its installed as DVD-RAM then right click the DVD-RAM icon in the my computer and choose properties, under the recording tab select enable recording, try burning a cd using the windows xp based roxio by sending your files to the DVD-ROM.
If it burn a CD this way then all you neec to do is use a different CD burning application software.
