I have the same problem and after going to the Canon site it indicated that the S45 is not compatible with Windows Vista. Does anyone know any way around this?

You can use a cardreader, available for purchase at any electronics store for around $12.

The bundled software that came with camera may not be compatible with this camera on that OS, but you can still connect to the computer and download via microsoft scanner and camera wizard assuming that your computer is running all of the necessary services. If you need further troubleshooting help, please just ask and I will attempt to get you going...

Hope this helps!

Canon imageclass d880 info

What OS is the Vaio running? Canon has drivers for the 32-bit versions of Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7. The Windows 7 driver may work with Windows 8 32-bit in the compatibility mode. However, most computers with Vista and later versions of Windows have the 64-bit OS; the exception are some machines that came with 2 GB or less of memory when new. Canon did not create a 64-bit driver for the imageCLASS D880. To check your OS version, go to the System Control Panel. (XP, Vista and Windows 7: Start > Control Panel (in the right hand column) > System and Security > System. In Windows 8: press the Windows key + X and do the same steps.) Then read the version information, if x64 is included then the 32-bit drivers won't work.

If you do have the correct driver installed for your OS, try swapping your data cable and changing the USB port, if in use. Do not use a USB hub but a direct connection to the computer. Check the device manager to make sure that there are no problems with the hardware drivers. (As above, go to the control panel. Then either in Hardware or System and Security choose the Device Manager. From the Windows key+X, just choose the Device Manager.) Expand the section for the type of port you are using and look for a triangle with a red X or yellow exclamation point. Try updating or uninstalling the driver and then letting the correct driver load when you reboot the computer. (Check with Sony for the driver.)

Next try uninstalling the printer and removing the data cable from your computer. Then install the driver from http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/office/imageclass_copiers/imageclass_d880/imageclass_d880#DriversAndSoftware . Then connect the printer to the computer when prompted to do so. Failure to install the Canon software first can interfere with the installation of the correct driver.

I hope this helps.

How to install driver "canon ip 1100"

The driver is a set of "directions" which gives the hardware (in this case your printer) directions on what to do and when.
You can do it one of three ways.
  1. Plug the printer into your computer and when new hardware is recognized by your computer, depending on the operating system, it will install the drivers stored in a Windows folder currently on your computer.
  2. Plug the printer into your computer and when new hardware is recognized by your computer it will prompt you with a new window to install the drivers and then either direct the computer to find the drivers on your computer (if you have them in a file from a download) or on the Install CD and proceed to install them.
  3. Insert install CD in the CD/DVD ROM and if it doesn't open on its own, click on MY COMPUTER then CD/DVD Drive (probably D or E drive) and click on install.
  4. Reboot computer and all should be fine
I hope this helps and good luck!

Windows Vista doesn't recognize cable

XP & Vista require different drivers to run hardware devices.
Visit the Vista compatibility site to determine if your hardware is compatible, by clicking here,
or visit the manufacturer's website to see if there are updated drivers and firmware available for Vista that you can download and install.
Another possibility is to visit Windows Update and run a custom scan with the cable attached and see if you are offered a hardware update for your system that would make it work, but this seems unlikely in the case of a cable...
Good luck!

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

Problem : When Windows XP was made there was no concept of SATA drives now ur drive is SATA and ur installation disc does not contain drivers for ur Hard disk thats why it is unable to find ur hard disk as it doesnt recognize it u need sata raid drivers on ur windows inst cd

simple solution: get WINDOWS XP CD with SP3 it contains support for sata drives

Workable Solution:

this specific model of Toshiba was shipped with vista OS and drivers now u are downgrading it to XP it depends on the installation disc if it is new one like SP3 included then u would have never faced this issue in ur case u should get a RAID driver from www.intel.com and then include them in ur copy of windows XP cd to load them at the startup of installation , so u need them in the first place to carry out installation, u have to do some job here download RAID DRIVERS from www.intel.com select ur board and chipset either it is 945 or 965 gm and then download nlite a software used to integrate these drivers to ur inst disk , u can also include SP3 thru this software in ur current win xp cd

SATA DRIVER FROM:

http://www.nliteos.com/

just download sata drivers from intel and nlite from the link and install the software integrate these drivers and burn ur cd incl them and then install normally as u were installing them earlier now it will recognize ur drive simple for more info how to do check this out

I have window vista in my laptop and I need the driveer for a canon bjc-85 bubble jet printer

Microsoft Windows Vista shall auto detect and recognize your device.
Normally most of the drivers are aleady available with Vista Os.

Step 1:
Connect the Printer to the system
Vista will auto detect this
Step 2:
When the pop-up windows appear stating new hardware found
Try to choose one from
Maufacturer >> Canon >> Check the BJC-85

But in case if you have tried to install driver form Windows XP CD
Please delete it and/or uninstall it entirely.

I hope this resolves you query
all the best

Cannot find a driver for Canon PowerShot S45 for Windows Vista

When connecting a digital camera to your computer with the usb connector, then turning it on the memory card in the camera becomes a removable drive under My Computer and will also bring up a dialogue window that will ask if you want to import pictures, etc. There is no need for a driver.
