You have to make sure the movie format is compatible by Windows Media Player.
Just get this tool to help you.
1. load your file to Video Sharer
2. choose AVI format
3. click" convert" button.
Then you will get the right format.
Here is the tool for you: http://www.asharer.com/download-video-sharer

Try downloading VLC media player or GOM player. They are free.
You can also try installing either k lite mega codec pack (free) or All-in -One Codec packs. Is it just a problem with this movie??Do you have problems playing other avi files??

First check sound settings on control panel, ensure volume is not at minimum and computer audio is not muted. Test playing a CD.

this is usually due to Media Player or whatever player you use on your pc, not having the right codecs to decompress sound from camera file.

Usually you sort it out upgrading media player, you can download update from links below.

  1. Windows Media Player 10

Canon ixus camera says my movie clip is an error

The video files your particular camera makes should be AVI format. What media player are you using? I've heard of problems playing AVI files with Windows Media Player.
Try using a different media player like VLC or Winamp. There are also video format conversion programs out there for free. I use anyvideoconverter for that. You can get all of those programs from cnet.com's download center.

Nikon s550 how do I download video clip to computer

When you plug the camera into a computer, you should see at least one new drive appear, go into "my computer " and opn the new drive and there will be a dcim folder, usually the movies are in there, just copy and paste them onto your desktop or whichever folder you want them in.

Hi, it depends on the type of movie clips you have on the disk. its possible they maybe avi files. To play on most dvd players you would need to convert them to mpeg 2 which is the format for dvd movies, you can google for software, or if you need more help go to videohelp.com. Normski

It records movies in Quicktime format (.mov). Do not try to run the movie in picture project. Download the movie file onto your harddrive and run it under Quicktime.

Not able to watch video shoots on my PC (windows XP 2000) after transferring from camera

The problem is exactly as described in the message. Windows media player will not playback files of the type .MOV unless you revert back to WMP version 6.4 (current version is WMP 11) and then install the appropriate codec which is available on this link; http://www.free-codecs.com/download/QuickTime_Alternative.htm Much easier and better way to play back files of this type you need different player software - the best being "Quicktime" which you can download for free from this link; http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html If you want a user manual for your camera go to this link; http://www.retrevo.com/search?q=Nikon+L3&terms=review+manual and click where it says "download pdf" I hope this helps, please ask again if you need any help with installing quicktime, enjoy your movies :)
