Check out your warranty status. You may be surprised that you can get the phone switched out free of charge.

My keyboard works except some keys are not working?

Your question is not specific about specifically which keys work and which keys do not work and exactly what you mean by the keys not working, whether you mean there is no reaction at all when the relevant keys are pressed or whether it is just that incorrect characters result from pressing these keys.

If incorrect characters result from pressing certain keys towards the right of the keyboard, use the Fn key, bottom left, pressed simultaneously with the Num Lock key, top right, to toggle 'on' or toggle 'off' the Alternative Symbol function of some of the multi-function keys.

If there is no reaction at all when you press a significant number of keys, then there may have been liquid spillage damage to the NetBook. Liquid spillage damage can sometimes be resolved by partial disassembly of a NetBook/Notebook and wiping congealed liquids off with mild solvent or allowing internalized water to evaporate. This type of repair is best done by an experienced NetBook/Notebook repair center or technician.

If only one or two or a small number of keys do not work, then it might be that particles of some or other substance, trapped underneath the keys might be interfering with the function of the non-functioning keys. This can sometimes be resolved simply by inverting and gently shaking the NetBookso that any trapped particles come loose and fall out. Occasionally, individual key caps have to be removed and replaced after the obstructing particle has been removed.

If several keys are defective but the fault was not caused by liquid spillage or trapped particles, then the keyboard unit itself might be faulty and need to have its internal ribbon cable and cable connectors tested for cable damage or connector damage (typically either from liquid spillage, shock caused by dropping the computer or by previous unprofessional internal repairs). If no fault is found with the cable or the cable connectors, then the entire keyboard unit may have to be replaced.

If log 1000 = 3, how do I do this with my hp 12c calculator

The 12C does not have the common logarithm function built-in, but you can calculate it using the natural logarithm function (the blue g shift of the %T key, 2nd row, 3rd key).

The common logarithm of x is the natural logarithm of x divided by the natural logarithm of 10, or
log x = ln x / ln 10

Press 1 0 0 0 g [LN] 1 0 g [LN] /
and you'll get the result 3.

Why my asus a3000 keyboard not function correctly when i push U I O P the function is number when i push this key

NumLk (Numbers Lock) has been turned on. Pushing U I O P results in 4 5 6 * and pushing J K L results in 1 2 3. NumLk allows a block of keys on the right side of the keyboard to function as a numeric keypad to facilitate easier entry of numbers or numeric related data. There is an indicator that will be on when NumLk is on. To turn NumLk off, you need to push the key that has NumLk on it. It may be combined with a function key in which case you will need to hold down the Fn key while pushing the NumLk. If you manage to push the right key(s), the NumLk indicator should turn off and the keyboard will revert back to its normal operation (without the numeric keypad).

The # 4 key is seems to be messed up or sticking, when I push other keys #4 shows up behind the key I pushed, sometimes the fours keep going across the screen

Here are some diagnostics you can perform. If the tests fail then the calculator needs to be repaired.

Warning
In the keyboard test (below), make sure the keys are pressed in the right order. If the calculator fails the keyboard test then it needs repairs. (Ignore the beginning of the post and skip to the last part For Repairs )

You can reset the calculator:

Turn the back of the calculator towards you. Extract the top left rubber pad on the back of the calculator and use a paper clip to press the Reset button. If that does not restore the calculator to health, you should perform the diagnostic tests.

Make the calculator perform a
Self test.
  1. Turn calculator on
  2. Press and HOLD the key [ON]
  3. Press and release the key with "E" to its right (the one before last in first row)
  4. Release the [ON] key.
It tests the RAM and ROM. You will see various patterns on screen. Afterward you should see
IROM OK,
IRAM OK,
HP48GX OK
The self test will continue repeatedly until you perform a
System Halt
  1. Press and HOLD the [ON] key
  2. Press and release the "C" key
  3. Release the [ON] key.
The empty stack should appear.

If you do not see IROM OK and IRAM OK, the calculator requires service.

If the above procedure is successful, you may want
to test the keyboard.
  1. Turn calculator on
  2. Press and HOLD the [ON] key
  3. Press and release the "D" key.
  4. Release the [ON] key
  5. Press and release the "E" key. KBD 1 should appear on the top left corner of the screen.
  6. Starting at the upper left corner of the keyboard, and moving Left to right, press every key in sequence. If you follow the sequence and the keys are functioning properly you should hear a high pitch sound at each press.
  7. If everything is OK, when you press the last key (+) the screen displays KBD 1 OK.
To exit the keyboard test proceed as described above under System Halt.

If you follow the proper sequence and a hexadecimal number appears after pressing a key, the calculator requires service.-

You can also try this site. They do repairs on most models, except the newer ones.

I want to change my TH6110D1013 honeywell thermostat to celsius . how do i do it?

You need to go into the setup mode to change it. Push and hold the i button along with the increase and decrease buttons. All the segments on the display will appear for about three seconds, then setup number will appear to the left and factory setting to the right. Change the setup number by pressing the (i) button until you get to 14. This is the degree temp. display, factory setting is 00. Use the arrow up key to change to 01 (celsius). To exit setup, push and hold the(i) key until the display returns to normal.

Menu keeps popping up; Stuck buttons perhaps?

Yes, a stuck key would be a likely culprit. Sometimes a key will get stuck out of just plain useage/wear, or, pop or other liquid spill or splatter will result in a sticky key. Press on the suspect key-compare to another key- different feel will tell you a problem exists.

Low cost keyboards don't generally have the life expectancy as older higher quality ones. Laptop keyboards are also more fragile, and subject to problems.
