Troubleshooting


If the vertical hold control have no effect, and can't stop vertical rolling, the vertical oscillator side should be checked. Check the hold control too, if any.

No vertical hold adjustment available. Vertical hold is controlled by a chip in the unit and from what you indicate, it is "out" on the unit. A tech can remedy your problem, "if" you can find out who is like me who took engineering along with being a tech (now retired)

Is there vertical hold control on this TV?


All relatively new TV's no longer have a vertical hold control neither a horizontal hold control. The circuits are locked on the correct frequency
by phase-locked loops. (computer controlled)

DVD picture rolls vertically


Somehow the TV setting on the DVD player was set to PALS so we changed it to the proper setting.

unfortunatly no. the vert hold is set by black bars at the top/bottom of the video signal (outside of the viewable area). it sounds like your VCR or tape is damaged.

VR353 is a 200k pot that feeds directly in to the vertical oscillation input of the chip on the main board at connection B1. If this pot is broken, you must replace the pot in order to get any vertical oscillation at all.

no control over the remote..but impossible not to have vertical hold control in the TV itself. it should have one maybe at the back.
