What did you use to install the printer software, the installation cd or the downloaded file? What is the version of your Macintosh computer(e.g. Mac 10.4, Mac 10.5, Mac 10.6, etc.)?

Unplug the usb cable from the computer. Uninstall the software. I recommend you use the software you can download from the Lexmark website. Just go to this link: http://bit.ly/cMS3Y0. Download and install the software. Follow the instructions. Hope this helps. If you need more assistance, leave a comment and I'll get back to it. Thanks.

Issue with scanning documents to PDF however no issues with printing documents

from the sounds of this you have dirt or something on the scanning lenses. you need to check where the document you are scanning is loading it is carried across a lens that creates the image, if this is dirty you will get your symptoms coming out. if you lift the cover where the document is feed in you can clean this lens with some glass cleaner and a soft cloth. if all is printing ok you will waste ink by carrying out cleaning and alignment programs so save your ink and check the lenses for scanned doc. Hope this helps.Andy

Print pdf files

Try to print another type of document, i.e : doc, jpg.
If it 's no problem at another type of document, the problem is on PDF file ( not allowed printing, security setting), or on software for opening PDF file.

How do I scan a multiple page doc which includes engineering drawings into one PDF file using my HP C3180 and Mac with "tiger OS X ?

Only one page per scan. But scan the desire doc and print it in the quantity you want. For the docs to be printed in PDF grab a copy of CutePDf that works as a printer driver. When you choose the doc in to printer you will choose CutePDF instead of your HP.

HP OfficeJet J5780 Vertical Black Line Prints when copying or scaning only. Cleaned rollers and changed black ink cartrigde. Still problem.

Have you tried cleaning the document feeders Scan Glass? (small glass under doc feeder ~ 1" by 9") Most times there is dirt spot on this glass, causing a shadow on scans and copies.
Try copying from the large glass by lifting doc feeder / platen cover and manually placing original. If no line copying or scanning manually from large glass, then small scan glass is deffenitely the culprit. Hope this helps.

HP PSC 2355 all-in-one scanning problem

hi shaundoyle -

first, I wanted to point you to HP's general support page for your model:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=422000&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us

here is another link, this one to a doc for connecting to more than one HP product using a Mac:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&cc=us&docname=bpm01356&dlc=en&product=422000

here's a link to a doc about the scanning stopping:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&cc=us&docname=c00803473&dlc=en&product=422000

and yet another link, this one for probs printing through 'classic' applications:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&cc=us&docname=c00035422&dlc=en&product=422000

it sounds like one piece of software overwrote another, or your two pieces of hardware are fighting each other for your Mac's attention. hope this helps a little.

Printer queue is full

This problem seems to be related to USB printers and print queue issues are very common in Mac OS computers and Windows 2000 PCs.

You don't say if you are using a USB connector, but they're pretty common these days. You also don't say if you're using a Mac or PC, but most people use PCs. I did find a solution for this issue that says it's related to Windows 2000 and a USB printer, but may apply to other operating system platforms:

Print Jobs are Stuck in the Print Queue

The first step to this solution is to download and install an HP diagnostic software utility. There's a separate page at HP that describes the utility and lets you download it:

HP Printing and Diagnostic Utility

I didn't find any information that specifically said that you "can" print a test page but "can't" print a document.

Another reason why you might be able to print a test page but not a document isn't related to the printer but the application that created the document. If you are having trouble with Word or Excel or whatever office application you used to create the doc, it might not print. That's why it is helpful to try to print a variety of different docs, created with different apps.

It could also be the individual document. Occasionally, a document becomes corrupted and while you may be able to open it (and sometimes you can't do even that), it doesn't print. If you haven't tried printing more than one document, you can test this by creating another doc in the same app and seeing if it'll print.

Try doing test prints with different docs and then with docs created in different apps. If those work, it's doc/app related. If they don't, try the links I suggested above.

Good luck.

Copying a word doc from scanner to pc

First, I would install the latest driver for this printer. Before scanning, select 'save as file' option and save the document as a PDF. That should allow anyone with Acrobat Reader to open it. Hope that helps!
