Supermicro SuperServer 5013G-M - PS2 error

Hello here is the homepage:

http://www.supermicro.com/products/system/1u/5013/sys-5013g-m.cfm

Is your Mouse a USB mouse or is it a HYBRID Mouse? Look at the bottom of mouse and see what is written. It should give you the: (1-) Name (2-) Model Number & it will either say: "USB Mouse" or "USB 2.0 and PS2 Compatible". If it is USB 2.0 and PS2 Compatible, then it is a HYBRID MOUSE - You should have a - USB to PS2 - Adapter that came with the mouse.

Use that adapter and plug into the PS2 Mouse port - (only if it is a HYBRID). It will automatically configure itself as a PS2 mouse. Now you will have both your Input devices set as PS2.

(2) - If it is a USB mouse, can you obtain a PS2 mouse to temporarily use? If you can; try using the PS2 Mouse Port?

Now you may have to set BIOS on - with regard to:
(1) - Legacy USB Support -(Either Support or Disable)
(2) - USB settings to what Motherboard supports

Try also to upgrade the drivers/bios, if nessesary.

SET LEGACY USB SUPPORT TO "DISABLED" FOR BOTH MOUSE & KEYBOARD IN BIOS.

Good luck

Either CPU usage reaches 100% to perform a disk operation or to read the Interrupt. Check the Event Viewer for Specific Errors. You can verify it using the Task or Process Manager. A Sudden increase of the CPU usage. Typically servers are configured to allocate the CPU for the Background Services. So it can happen. You should not change it.
The other things is your Mouse interrupts (IRQs) are not compatible with another Device such as a Network card you have. (Most probably a network card) That is a common issue. You have to check the compatibility of your Devices.
Other Scenarios:
Scan the System for Spyware.
Clean the mouse connectors.
Try booting into safe mode, getting into device manager, deleting the mouse drivers and rebooting will solve the issue as well.
Hope this will help. You can check the IRQs on the web. Please feel free to ask for further help.
Please rate the answer as well

Dell PowerEdege 1600SC not recognizing IO devices

Just go into the bios and insert the correct parameters. you shut it off before it could save the settings. Or hit fi on boot and it should take you into the bios and you cand sort it out in there. If you want an easy way, just do a system restore. Start,Programs, accesorys, system tools, system restore, just go back a day or two before you had that issue, and you should be good to go, good luck

Connecting my router

Betty,
Did you unplug the power to the cable modem for at least 15 secs, prior to plugging in the router?
This in fact does fix alot of startup problems.

Don't know how to get my wireless adapter to pick up my Linksys

You are joking right ?

Windows Me is an 'upgrade' to windows 98se .. it has ZERO security .. even assuming you c an get a wireless card/dongle for it, if you connect that to the web and it will be infected with every virus / root kit / Trojan on the planet within minutes ... and will then go on to infect all your other machines in the same household.

If it has Me, chnaces are its Pentium 2, 128Mb RAM or less .. chuck it (or donate it to 3rd world recycle) = it's not worth having your Bank a/c, email, eBay, paypal log-in details stolen

No internet connection

You could try one of a few things.

1, get a wireless card if it does not have one already,
2. get regular internet from an ISP
3. Reset the network connections and make sure all cables are connected properly,
4. Set up a home network and use a second computer that has a reliable internet connection
5. move the tower around to see if it can catch a wireless signal,
6 (and last that i can pull from my head) Is to get a wireless signal expander to lengthen the range of current wireless around your house.

PPP should be refering to PPPOE (or point to point protocal over ethernet). PPPOE is the method that a DSL modem logs into an ISP. So essentially their log in server is down, and since your modem is unable to connect to their login server you cannot get online. This sounds like a problem entirely on their end, and unfortunately you're pretty much at their mercy in regards to when it gets fixed. My only suggestions other than just waiting it out is look into another ISP or purchase a wireless card and a large antenna and see if you can pick up an open network close to your location. The later option is entirely based on you lucking out and picking up a connection close by though, it's possible nobody near you is sharing an open wireless connection. Peter
