Sounds as though your machine is plumbed incorrectly, the height of the waste hose end when fitted into stand pipe should not be lower than 4/5 inches from top of washer, this is to prevent syphoning which will leave suds grime etc and also cause blotching on whites

It has a musty smell

Step one: Identify the source. Try switching to a high efficiency powder detergent instead of liquid. (Suds collect in nooks and crannies.)
Step two: Clean. First wipe the inside of the washer, especially the area where the door seals to the inside. Mold can collect around the insides and folds of the rubber seals. Get in there and make sure you cleaned it all. You could use bleach or Pinesol.
Step three: Use a quarter cup of dish washing detergent (powder is best, liquid if you must), along with a towel. Put the machine on the "sanitary" (hottest water) setting. Let it finish its cycle. This should get rid of the mold completely.
Step four: Leave the door open between wash loads. This will decrease the mold build-up as it allows the tub to dry completely
NOTE: IT WILL TAKE 2-3 WASHINGS TO TOTALLY RID THE CLOTHES OF THE MUSTY SMELL.
Hope it helps!

We clean the filter after every wash but we still get black & white bits on the washing wa have cleaned the waste pipe, pump filter at the back is always clean .model no sw75usp can you help under...

Hi bob, have you tried cleaning the dispencer drawer that supplys the detergent to the tub? in some cases over time the detergent holder can collects small amounts of powder that can dry out and stick to the walls of the holder and when the machine is in its spinning stage can sometimes vibrate the dry powder in turn cause the powder to enter the tub also there can be a huge build up of liquid detergent like softners that can form a hard black residue in the holder in turn causing the clothes to collect black paticles. If all is ok then you could try applying a hot wash cycle without any clothes in the tub to flush the bowl from any contaminents, thumbs up if this helps thanks.

My machine is a hotpoint aquarius and after a wash the clothes come out of the machine smelley. I also have a grime on the rubber seal around the door

A couple of possibilities her:
  1. Washer not rinsing and draining properly
  2. You are doing too many low temperature washes
Solution to 1 is to check and clean pump filter.
Solution to 2 is, do more high temp washes, even if you do not put clothes in, do a 90 degree wash with powder in, this will help keep the smell from reocurring, and help keep the seal clean.

Thanks.

White marks on my clothes.

Are you using TOO much powder? And is the machine set to the correct rinse tempature? You mention white stuff, does it look like undissolved washing powder? Or fabric softner? Possibly try liquid detergent and see if the problem continues. And follow the recommended amounts of detergent for each wash load, and the tempature settings. And of course the water levels. All of the above are crucial to insure you get maximum preformance and utility out of your machine, with the results you expect. Let us know what you find. Kindest Regards, Slats.

Rubber seal got dirty

Clean thoroughly with scouring pad and liquid cleaner, you will not get all the marks off,but as long as you get the worst off, it should be o/k.
To keep it from getting any worse, do a 90oC wash with powder in, but without clothes at least once a month, this will help keep it clean.
The problem is initially caused by doing too many low temp washes, so this is why you need to do a hot boil wash periodically.

Thanks.

Dirt and grime always building up around seal inside door

This is a very common problem with a lot of users, it is mainly down to the way you are using your washer.
The most important factor is that you are probably doing a lot of low temp washes,eg:40oC.
This does not let the wash powders and detergents to work properly at these low temps, so consequently you get a build of slime and grease and bacteria which is actively growing.
At least once a month depending on how often you wash, do a 90oC hot wash with powder in, but no clothes in.
This is called a maintenance wash, and most manufactures are recommending this now in the user instructions.
The other thing to do now before it gets any worse, is thoroughly clean the door seal and glass with a scouring pad or steel wool pan scrubber you will not hurt the door seal by doing this, and remove as much of the grease etc that you can, pull back the door seal and get inside where you normally can't see.
You will find that the seal will be stained, but as long as you get off the worst, it should be o/k.
Hope this helps solve your prob.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks, and a merry xmas.

Washing machine does not wash clothes

You are possibly washing at the wrong temp, or not using sufficient powder or detergent.
The m/c is not rinsing properly, check that it is pumping o/k.
If there is a build up off slime and mould on your door seal, then you are definately washing at too low temp.
At least every 4 to 6 weeks, do a high temp wash with powder in but no clothes.
This is called a maintenance wash and helps to keep the inside parts clean..
If your door seal is stained, clean as best you can with a scourer pad or similar. You will not hurt the seal.
plz rate my solution .
Thanks.
