What do you think you think the E drive should be. A+B are reserved for floppys and C is usually the Hdd D is prob your dvd/cd. therefore E is either an additional cd/dvd or an external device.
Tell us what you think it is.........

LG laptop usb ports not working

do you have the program needed to get what you have on your flash drive? If you don't have a photo program or pdf program or what ever to open it, it won't work. try connecting something else that uses USB port to it and see if that works, then you will know if its a program problem or your computer. if its the computer, you can replace it.

My windows XP OS won't recognize my SimpleTech SimpleDrive Pininfarina 300GB External USB 2.0 Hard Drive

I found that often, external hard drives just don't have any active partitions and thus don't show up in Windows. Go into the control panel, administrative tools, computer management and then the disk manager and see if it has a partition. If it's just unallocated space, right click and make one.

I have installed a 2nd hard drive in my hp dv7-1232nr laptop and it shows up in the device manager but does not show up when I click on my computer. Why is it not showing up there?

With XP and 2000, though, use Windows' Disk Management utility. Click Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management, and choose Disk Management from the tree at left. Your new drive should appear, with a black bar indicating it isn't partitioned. Right-click the bar, and choose New Partition to launch the New Partition wizard. Installed drives and their partition schemes appear in the Disk Management window's lower-right corner.

Click Next, and check that Primary Partition is selected; click Next again, to the Specify Partition Size screen (don't change the partition size in the "Partition size in MB" field); and click Next to advance to another screen, on which "Assign the following drive letter" should be selected. Click Next yet again (to the Format Partition screen), and ensure that "Format this partition with the following settings" is selected and that the "File system" drop-down reads "NTFS." Click Next a final time, hit Finish, and formatting begins.
Formatting could take an hour or more, depending on drive capacity. But don't be surprised if your formatted drive has less capacity than the package claims. A 320GB drive, for instance, formats to about 300GB. Drive manufacturers advertise preformatted size, but a portion of the drive is inaccessible.
Hope this information will help.

Your response is very much appreciated...Thank you for using Fixya...

I have a really old computer and I put my flash drive into the where it is supposed to go, but nothing came up. What am I supposed to do?

Some Flash Drives don't come with an "autorun" installed in it, if you have a Windows 7 Operative System, it might be installing the driver for it. If it's already installed, go to your computer menu and check if the drive shows up there (In the "removable drives/devices" area). If it doesn't show up, try plugin it in another USB port, your port might be the on not working.

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they are probably old and faulty a computer needs its connections to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

Toshiba (MK1031GAS) 100 GB Hard Drive - Cant be viewed in My comp

The first thing you need to do is go into the Control Panel, then double click on Administrative Tools. After that, open up Computer Management, then go to Storage, then Disk Management. This is where you will see all of your drives listed. Be extremely careful in this section because you don’t want to screw up your main hard drive.
What you are looking for in the Disk Management area is your new hard drive. If you only have one hard drive, it should show up as Disk 0. Therefore, your new drive should most likely be Disk 1. Underneath the name Disk 1 it should say Unknown, the size of the disk, and Not Initialized. Right click in this area and you should get a pop-up window. Click Initialize Disk and it should only take a couple of seconds.

Once your new hard drive is initialized, you will still have to format the drive before you can use it. To format, right-click in the column to the right of the Disk 1 label and then click New Simple Volume in the menu that pops up. From here, you can allocate how much of the drive you want for a new volume, what drive letter you want to call it, give it a name, and finally format the hard disk.
Formatting the hard drive may take a while, depending on the size. My 500 gigabyte drive took nearly an hour to format, so don’t be alarmed if your's takes a while. Once the format completes, your new hard drive will now show up in My Computer and you can start putting files on it.
