Question about Bosch 24 in. SHU66C05 Stainless Steel Built-in Dishwasher

Rinse agent cycle

I have a new Bosch dishwasher, unfortunately when I got my kitchen remodeled, the contracter did not leave the owner's manual for me. I bought it in Oct 09.There are 4 wash cycles, power scrub, auto wash, regular wash, and quick wash. The cycles above are: active, clean, sanitize, and rinse agent. I cannot get any of the wash types to complete all 4 cycles. When it was new the wash would end on rinse agent. Now when the was is complete, the dishes are still wet and the cycle stops at the santize cycle. I have filled up the rinse agent compartment with appropriate product. Can you help me? thank you

Bosch dishwasher 3306 leaves film on dishes like its not rinsing well. I use a rinse agent.

The problem is actually hard water. www.dishwasherfilter.com has a product out that will solve this guaranteed. it filters the hard minerals out of your water before they enter the dishwasher leaving your dishes crystal clear. you also will not need a rinse agent when using the filter. it also is guaranteed or your money back. you will love it

My diswasher won't dry my dishes. It leaves them

if no rinse agent is present it doesnt matter how hot the water gets they will still not dry check unit make sure it is full. rinse agent is only to aid the drying process the machine will wash happily without it but not dry.

Diana have you tried to adjust the dosage regulator that is inside the fill cap area of the rinse agent container, look through your owners/operators manual it should help you in identifying and control of the regulator, it sounds as if you need to up the amount of rinse agent being dosed into each load of dishes. Good luck !

Dishes and glasses being etched; looking dirty; embarrassing

First of all, if you're talking about actual glass as opposed to crystal, glass can etch easily. Why? Because like crystal, there are variations in its quality. Cheap glass will etch faster with the use of an electric dishwasher compared to higher quality glass.

Did you know that the main constituent in most automatic electric dishwasher detergents is sodium hydroxide (lye) and chlorine bleach (another caustic acid)

A Bosch dishwasher has very long wash cycles, further exposing your dishes to the possibility of etching damage. You should stop using the sani-rinse cycle if there is such an option and switch to a gel format detergent as opposed to a powder. Use a rinse agent such as Jet-Dry. This should solve your etching problem.

If it's a Bosch, check for Rinse Agent (e.g. JetDry). Rinse agent is not optional with a Bosch.

Dishwasher Drying Problem

rinse agent is essential and best to use seperate detergent and rinse aid and not the combined tablets. if you live in a hard water area, essential also to use salt. the dishwasher will dry quite well - it relies on the last rinse being hot and then the water just evaporates. most dishwashers work like that but some turn on the element for short periods during dry.
