The game cannot be read on our ps2, but the ps2 works for other games. the disk looks fine. what can we try to get this game to play?

Even if the game isn't scratched, you should try holding it under a light to see if there are any fingerprints or smudges on the disc. You can try cleaning the disc with a lint-free cloth if you've got one, though I've never had trouble with a cotton t-shirt. Wipe from the center of the disc straight towards the outer edge. Do this for the entire disc and try it again.

If that doesn't work, please update this issue with the error message you're seeing if any. Does the disc show up in the PS2 browser? Do you get a disc read error? Does the screen just go black when you try to play the game?

Playing MLB the Show on PS3. Game loads fine, franchise I've been playing loads fine. But once I try to play a game, bar starts as game loads then game cuts off and goes to main PS3 screen.

Is your CD dirty or does it have any cracks? It might just be the problem. Otherwise, it could be corrupt game data. Clean the disc, if it still doesn't work I'd try deleting the game utility data and re-downloading it. Hope this helps in some way or another.

Wont play xbox game disc

Make sure the disc is clean, if its clean, and works in another 360. Disassemble the 360, open the dvd drive up, shoot some canned air in there but NOT on the laser, clean the laser with some rubbing alchol of at least 91% and a q-tip then put it back together if this doesn't work you will need to buy a replacement laser off of ebay. And here is a link on how to disassemble the 360: http://www.rrodfix.com/how-to-take-apart-the-microsoft-xbox-360-game-console.html Just make sure to stop when you've gotten to the part about the DVD drive, then disconnect the DVD drive, and take it apart. Best of luck.

Ps3 slim error code 8001002b what could this code be.

The code means "dirty or damaged disc". The PS3 has encountered some kind of problem reading the disc.

Possibly the laser could be having problems, possibly the disc.

Try another game disc. If it works, the game disc you are trying to start is somehow damaged.

If it doesn't, the laser most likely has a problem.

If the laser is the problem you can try and clean it with a DVD laser lens cleaner like this one :

Unfortunately this is high likely a disc player issue and it will be cheaper for you to purchase a new (old) system then it would be for you to go through the hassle of repair.

As you have already specified you are aware of the pot tweaking and that is the route that might lead you to a solution if you are to try and do it yourself. Another option though also costing money is to purchase just the disc player from ebay and change it out completely. Again, I find Xbox 360 cheap enough at pawn shops or yard sales that you could easliy find a cheap one.

I have given all my original xbox systems to family members already otherwise I would have gaven you one of mind.

Good luck.

I just bought a new game and this message keeps coming up saying that the disk is scracthed evev though its not

Do other games do this as well? It sounds as if your reader for the game disc is either dirty or wearing out. You can clean this with some compressed air cleaner for computers you can get in a can at any office supply or multi goods store. Do not misunderstand what i wrote and try to spray compressed air like from a compressor unless you are sure what you are doing, or you will knock it out of alignment.

The other problem could be that the game has some coding that your system doesn't understand. This is highly unlikely and well tested for usually but I have seen it happen on systems that have several revisions of the disc reader(Cough original Xbox Cough) sometimes the firmware for the reader is outdated and just cannot make sense of the data. As I've said highly unlikely.

The other thing that could be happening is that your reader is wearing out. This will impact more than your new game more than likely. other games will intermittently error out increasing in frequency until it just stops working. if this is the case and cleaning didn't help you will need to have the system serviced.

Finally, your game could actually be defective. Does it play in someone elses machine? if so... Your machine has an issue. If it doesn;t work in their machine either and it is known to be fine then the game itself is defective and you should seek a refund.

Hope that helps!

Hi My daughters console will not recognised games inserted into the slot. I've tired all different games and nothing works and I've tried the games in my sons DSi with no problem. Pls help

There is a problem with the game reader, try cleaning the metal pins on the reader itself if that doesn't work send it in for warranty, if neither works you are going to need a new DSi

You can try using toothpaste. I've tried it several times and it has worked for me. Here's how you do it.
  1. Grab a bottle of toothpaste and your disc
  2. Put a good amount of paste on the disc
  3. Take a soft cloth and rub the toothpaste over the disc. Be sure to give it some pressure.
  4. Turn on a sink and wash the toothpaste off your disc
  5. Place disc in Xbox and enjoy

Do other games work? And if so then one of the scratches on the disc is fatal. There are some handy tips to fixing discs out there. Try youtube. I repaired one of my discs with toothpaste.
