Depends on what make and model you have. If you have a Samsung projection TV, you only have to adjust the DMD board (Digital Mirror Display). If you have a Zenith or Sony projection TV you must adjust the projection lens.

This is a convergence problem that can be either bad connections on the convergence ICs or defective ICs. If you can solder, you can fix this yourself. Let me know if yuo'd like to do this and I'll provide additional instructions. If you go the route of a service call, expect a aprts cost in the $40-$60 range plus the local labor rate.

Screen

HI, need to see a picture of the line and need to know if you see it on all inputs and whitch ones are you using and does it do it on all of them.
If you cannot send me a picture then let me know what color is the line,is it from left to the right end of the screen and the top and the bottom of the line are they straight all the way horrizontally.
Wait your response then I will do my best to find the solution.

1 inch lines on top and bottom of screen

Is the picture overall too small by 1 in. on top and bottom? Or is it cut off by the lines?

If it's too small, look for an adjustment labeled Vertical Height. This may only be accessible internally, it's normally a service adjustment, not a user adjustment.

Your problem is a vertical deflection issue, either an adjustment or the vertical circuit requires repair by a technician. In the latter case, electrolytic capacitors are a likely cause.
