Not sure if you already got my return question or not. We have a Playstation 2. Do we perform the same steps, or is there a different scenario. For instance, where do I turn the Playstation off in the back. I don't see a button for this? Thank you so much for assisting us with this issue-we really can't get another one right now.

this was no help whatsoever. It says the Playstatin 2 reset button is in the front - but you have to read the manuall to find it. When we found the manual it stated that the reset button is the on/off button - we held that down for 3 seconds - waited 5 seconds to turn back on- and we still get the big green screen- howver this green screen comes up after the Browser System configuration screen - then goes green? Hi, this is how to do system restore on your PS3
This works for sure; You need to make sure that the console is already in standby (light on the front is red) Hold down the power button for 5 - 10 seconds, the light will turn green and it will beep twice. Shut off your system at the back and wait a minute. Turn it back on and you should be good. You loss all you data once the system is restored..

Take care

Browser shows no data on PlayStation 2 Console

I am having the same problem with my PS2, but I have an HDD inside of mine. I am told this is a circuit problem inside the PS2 that doesn't allow the information to be transfered to the RAM. That's why you see “No Data” instead of the usual problem of “Disc Read Error”. I hate to say it, but it sounds like you are going to have to do the same thing I am about to do. Send it in to Sony and get it repaired.

I am also pretty sure this PS2 you are talking about is the large fat one, and not the slim one.
