My huner fan is moving slowly and I smell burning. What should I do? Could it be dirty and just needs to be vacummed clean? Is something like this worth fixing ior is it cheaper to just replace the fan.

It is probably less expensive to get a replacement. When there is a burning smell, it is usually the motor that is failing. BUT just to be sure , take down the canopy cover and try and determine where the odor is coming from. Is it in the wiring , or definitely in the motor?

I have a frigidare dryer 5-6 years old. Recently, started smelling like something electrical is burning. If I hold down the start button the motor will turn the drum slowly and the burning smell returns....

Check for vent blockages! Overheating may be a serious issue and fire hazzard. A slow moving drum could mean a bad traction belt, jammed mechanical part or the motor is not spinning at a proper RPM which may indicate motor damage also. The electrical burning is a serious issue also and a fire hazzard. Dryers need periodical cleaning to remove excess lint, dust and debris. Lack of cleaning causes the dryer to work harder and run hotter. Excessive heat shortens the life of many parts such as belts, bearings, electronics, wiring, etc...

The pc not starting up as it should. it displays on the black screen, 511-CPU fan not detected. I use F1 to continue the start up. but shuts down in about 10 minutes.

withtout the fan the computer will overheat and shutdown.
open the case and see if the fan moves at all.. is it to clogged to move. can of air will fix the problem. blow the dust away then vacume the stuff that falls out.

if not dirty then you need to replace the fan.

Gas smells of kerosine

I have the same issue. According to the furnace repairman the duct for the fan inside the unit is rusted out causing it to burn very dirty and produce that smell. In my case the furnace needs to be replaced. Hopefully you're more lucky than I. Hope this helps

It might be a slipping rubber belt, is the brush roller moving when you look underneath? If it's a self propelled machine there might be another slipping belt. Friction from fast rubbing rubber can smell like it is burning.

I have a hoover mach 5 multi-chamber cyclonic vacum cleaner and it keeps getting hot and quitting.it's got a strong smell like something is burned when it gets hot also.

if its giving off that strong smell then the motor is bad. probably caused by not keeping the filters clean. on any bagless machine one has to clean the entire vacuum after almost every use to keep the unit operating correctly

Rainbow will not come back on

Bad idea.... I think the foam got through the separator and into the fan system. When it dried it hardened and now it need to be taken apart and cleaned.

Turn it on for less than 1 sec and if you hear motor making humming sound - it is ALIVE and cleaning (maybe new fan blades too) may be all that it needs. If no sound at all it may be KAPUT. You must have smelled something burning when you turned on and it did not work.

for D4 and SE models - When cleaning I would recommend to replace bearings as they are not that expensive and if you took it apart - maybe a good idea to replace them. Also you probably will need a new gasket as when taking old one off (it is glued) it may rip apart.

For e-series - you will need a new HEPA filter.

Burning Rubber smell coming from fridge

try taking the bottom panel off and vacuming all the dust on the coils. The dust may be heating up and burning. The coils are usually at the bottom of the fridge. Check to see if the fan is running also.
