Question about Craftsman 42 in. Deck 19.5hp Lawn Tractor
Hi, it sounds like your engine is burning too rich (getting too much gas).It's normal for an engine to require a gas-rich mixture of gas/air to crank when the engine is cold. Once it warms to operating level, the mixture doesn't need to be as rich (less gas). Sounds you either need to adjust the fuel intake, whether by carburetor, or choke or other parts depending on the type of motor..
