Hi, The issue:
solid red error light?
HD70 "die's" after few min with strange noise?
flickers different colors before complete self shutdown?

well try this....

Before replacing your bulb, fan or any other component try first cleaning your optoma really good!! HD70 doesn't comes with any kind of filter so you can imagine the amount of dust can be.
The most important thing is to blow away any dust from your color wheel + the sensor attached to it .

for farther troubleshooting clean your fan's.
there are 2 fan's inside the HD70.

probably the most problems will be solved by cleaning the color wheel!!
if the problem is not solved ,check the lamp and the fans if they work properly.

For fan replacing:
Fan Part number: GM1207PKVX-A

    Thanks for update.
Lamp seems fine, please check temp sensor. All other things are working fine so it could be heat issue or temp sensor sends wrong signal to system control chip.
    Thanks.

One temp sensor would be on lamp housing and yes, projector need to be take in as its qualified tech job to get it fixed. It is not user level repair.
    Thanks.

Replaced lamp on mitsubishi wd62527 worked for 10 minutes then shut down. Now red lamp light is on

If the red indicator light on the front of your HDTV is glowing a solid red, you should first unplug the AC cord from the wall power outlet and wait for 60 seconds before reapplying power to the HDTV.

After you turn the TV on, if it doesn't power up, try holding the power button down for at least 8 seconds. That's supposed to force a system reset. If your model has a system reset button, use that instead. Press the reset button for about 20 seconds...release it and press it again for 20 seconds, release it again and the led will blink just for a minute or two. You should now be able to turn the TV on.
If after several attempts, the HDTV has not fully powered on and the LED on the front of the HDTV is still glowing solid red, you may want to reseat the lamp.

If reseating the lamp has not resolved the issue then your next step is to order a replacement lamp.

WHY DOES MY HD OPTOMA DLP 70 TURN OFF AFTER FEW MINUTES?

If you have recently replaced the bulb you may need to reset the lamp counter in the projector menu.
If you have not replaced the bulb, the projector may be shutting down due to over-heating. Check that the projector is clear of as much dust and debris as possible.

Used my OPTOMA HD70 ABOUT 2years now -and had to replace the lamp i unplugged it and when turning it back on to work - it does not start , it`s dead the green led lamp does not flicker , does not work...

There is a switch on the side where you insert the lamp, it's black with a metal contact. If, when the lamp cover is replaced, it does not "activate" this switch for some reason (i.e. it is loose or perhaps bent) then the projector will not power at all.

Just remove the lamp and take a look at the switch for possible damage incurred from when you replaced the lamp.
