Question about Vector VEC1029POB Radio

Open Question

Vector VEC1029POB PowerCenter Batts Dead?

I've had a rechargeable PowerCenter in storage for some time. I tried to charge it up recently (with 110VAC) but when I unplug it from the wall, nothing works (acts like internal batts aren't holding a charge--only thing that works is lo-power on-board stuff like radio backlight). If I have it plugged in to wall (like it's charging on AC) everything works so I suspect the batts are no good. When it's charging I only get 3 LEDs for charging status--it never lights up the last (green) LED (indicating full charge). It's a great unit otherwise and I'd hate to have to scrap it without trying to replace the internal batts. Anybody know anything about these units? Are the batts replaceable? Thanx...

SOURCE: My Vector Vec157 Flashlight won't Charge...

It is the battery, I have a similiar Vector light for a few years and tried re-charging the battery but only the little LED light would come on. I have another Vector light, same model and switched batteries from the worjking one to the non-working one and now it works fine.

I then proceeded to purchase a new battery for the non'working one and when I arrived home I installed it and turned on the main light, still won't turn on, I tried the LED's, they work. I figured maybe the new battery needs a good charge so I plugged the charger in and charged the light for 12 hours, still no main light.

I guess the new battery is defective, so now I will return it and exchange it for another one.

SOURCE: how do i turn the

This is a very obscure radio, there are no instructions or any reference to it online. It should have an ALARM button on the unit, trying holding it down for at least 20 seconds, it should pop up options for it including ON / OFF. Also check for any switches on device referring to ALARM, but I believe on this model it is under the menu of the ALARM button.

SOURCE: Jump and start unit is dead, how do I recharge this

These units have a meter on them that shows if it is full or dead. If it will not charge from an AC wall socket, the unit is probably no good. Check the charger that it comes with to make sure that it doesn't need to be reset. If it has no reset button, you may need to return it for an exchange.

hi ..make sure that you have enough voltage output of your charger..If your battery is 12volts your charger must have a higher voltage out to complete the charging ..or maybe your battery is dead..long time storage of a battery can cause the battery damage ..that's all thank you

I haven't turned the camera on for a couple of years. I've tried charging the battery, but I can't get it to power up. Do I need to replace battery or is it something else?

If the rechargeable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.

I have elonex eb500 and have used it about 10 times. battery ran flat. Tried to recharge on laptop. Will not reconginse it nor will it charge or swtich back on. Please help

I had to look up what this was because I have never heard of it before. I'm going to assume it works like a laptop, unseat the battery and plug the device into its wall charger and see if it POSTS (power on self test, a PC laptop turns on and usually flashes its mfg logo while it does this) If it posts you've narrowed down the scope of the problem to the battery pack. Its possible your USB charging isn't actually drawing power I know I had a similar problem charging my Motorola flip phone on my laptops, you had to download some sort of driver from Motorola before it would accept the charge.

I've got a Bosch ps30 drill that uses bat411

Directions say green light indicates that the battery is fast charging only,it does not indicate at exact point of full charge. I let my batteries charge for 12 hours for the first time charging, found out myself the same way. Try that and you will notice the difference.

Have you got a normal wall charger is so it is smarter to use that, becuase when you charge the nano or any ipod for that matter, it slowly makes the battery life shorter so i suggest start charging from the wall charger, but it might be too late but give it a go if you have one hope this helped

I was using my Monster Power PowerCenter PC 800 power surge protector. My tv was running off it, Xbox360, and I had an iron plugged in too. All of the sudden it shut everything off and had a high pitch...

You have to open it up. Check for busted fuse, or a burnt
part. Your Power Center PC800 just experienced an overload. It could have blown an internal fuse at the least
and a burnt out part at its worst.

160 gb ipod classic won't recharge with the wall charger

Try charging it on the computer or with a different wall charger. The fault may lie in the charger brick. I have seen it happen many times that the wall charger quits working but it still charges on the computer.

Using rechargable battery with new camera for the first time

If you are using a rechargeable battery, yes you should fully charge it before you use the camera for the first time. Rechargeable batteries are normally supplied without a charge from the factory, but not always. Fully charged batteries may be in storage for a long time before the camera is purchased and unlike modern dry cells, rechargables will not hold a charge for years.

Fully charge your battery, then run it until it has completely exhausted. If you plan to put the camera in storage at some point in the future, always recharge the battery every couple of months or so, to keep it in good condition.

Of course make sure the supplied battery is in fact rechargeable and not a lithium which should not be recharged.
