Usually televisions require some adjustment after a bulb change; white balance or color temperature at least.

Please post the make and model of your television, as every set does this a different way. The more information you provide, he more accurate and specific our solutions can be.

I hope that helps.

On my WD-60C9 60 DLP HDTV the picture is really dark, colors are still ok but the entire picture is dark

Have you tried changing the brightness and contrast with the picture controls? If that doesn't solve the problem, it's possible the lamp box and lenses in front of the bulb need cleaning.

Picture is very dark on all channels. Settings have not changed. Do I need to replace the bulb?

You may need a drive PCB. This PCB can cause the picture to be too bright, no brightness or picture too dark, intermittantly or permanantly. Do check the bulb though and see if it is foggy looking or dull especially if it has not been changed. Thanks for using Fixya.

Picture getting dark

My jvc 27" tv was so dark I could hardly see any night scenes, even with the bright all the way on. If you push the sleep button, let go, then hold down the video and display (together), the service menu will come on. Scroll down to #7 (too dark) and adjust the brightness there. Works immediately. Good luck.

Darkening tv picture

The Picture tubes(not bulbs) do and probably are weak. There replace should only be done by a trained service person. One reason would be the hI Voltage issues related to the crt's, as these tubes store alot of HI voltage even after its unplugged for a while, and another reason would be that these tube can very easy implode then explode and that wouldnt be a pretty sight. Third would be the alighnment involved after all three tubes are replace. There ba cross hatch generator and alot of time involved with the alighnment. Please seek a pro to assit you when your ready to spend at least 900 TO 1000 bucks. Good Luck
