Radar error code 8 on Garmin 5012 touch screen

There is no reboot or recovery software for this problem. You are going to have to send the 5012 to Garmin for the factory reflash of the EEPROM.

No you need a radar detection device for that. Sorry they do not have two recievers on them.

this is a gps navigation device. there is no radar detection with it. the only thing it has is an FM traffic service to avoid delays, which may not be available in france. in short, this device is not illeagel nor does it have any type or radar detection or even speed camera detection.

Either your reed switch is bad or your antenna is not rotating. You may hear the motor spinning but that does not mean the array is. If the array is not spinning make sure the belt did not come off the motor. Start there.

My husband moved the boat slightly and it seemed to correct the radar screen somewhat. He is working on the whole boat at present so didn't want to take it completely for a drive down the river. If we have further problems we may call in or use the web site.

go to the map screen and touch the radar symbol that you want to erase from map. It will bring up a menu with more functions. Choose remove cam ;)

This is a somewhat common problem that occurs when a strong voltage spike while starting your car damages the radar detector. Bel can fix your RD. Once you get it back, always start your car first before powering on your radar detector. Likewise, power off your radar detector before turning off your car's ignition.
