I have a similiar issue. My son wants to play Guitar Hero (with a friend) for the school talent show. How can I get the Wii to project to a large screen? I was thinking we could connect it to a laptop and use a pc viewer, but that sounds like it won't work?

    Any ideas? Thanks.

I have not tried it with the wii (i have done it with a gamecube), but you can plug the wii into a vcr (make sure its l/r video in and video in), then connect the vcr to the computer through the line out for the vcr (it should say to tv) and plug it into the cable plug of the computer. then, use the application used for watching videos to play the wii

I dont think so but you can surf the internet with it (only websites that the wii can handle some may not load but youtube can) you have to go to settings and it will tell you if u want to make a connection but you have to have wi fi internet. the internet is a channel you install and it has no input for internet cable it has to be wireless. for questions on how to download the internet channel(free) then my email is DGKME@yahoo.com also at myspce

You need what is called a scan converter. It will allow you to input your cables (assuming RCA type) and come out the other side with HDMI.

Cant get wii hooked up to wireless internet

hi

The Wii game console from Nintendo can connect to the Internet over a broadband connection for a variety of experiences, including: Web browsing, downloads, on-line chat and visiting virtually any on-line site including Flash 7 and 8 sites. The easiest way to connect to the Internet is to use your existing wireless high speed connection.

1Be sure that your Internet connection is running smoothly and the green lights are all up. If you have a Nintendo Wi-Fi connector, you need to have the software installed and your computer connected to the Internet.

2 Turn on your Wii.

3
Select Wii Options, which is located on the bottom left of the screen. This is the button with the Wii logo

4 Select Wii Settings.

5 Click forward to the second menu screen using the blue arrow to the right.

6 Select Internet.

7 Select Connection Settings.

8 Choose an open connection, indicated by the word: "none".

9 Choose a wireless connection.

10 Determine the best option for you: Manual configuration or Search for an Access Point.

11 On Search for an Access Point, your Wii will search for a wireless network to connect to and will display a list of available networks. Networks identified with a closed padlock require authentication to join.

12 Select your network.
    • If your connection signal appears yellow or red, the stability or strength of the connection is not strong enough for the Wii's Internet needs. If possible, remove any obstacles between the Wii console and the Access Point or change the channel on your router to avoid interference.
    • If your wireless access point does not show up when you choose, Search for An Access Point, your router may have Broadcasting set to "No" or "Disable." Some routers also refer to this security as "Stealth" mode. You can either change your broadcast setting to "Yes" or "Enable," or you can manually enter the SSID in the manual setup screen of your Wii console.
  1. 13Select Save and OK.
  2. 14Select OK on the next screen and the Wii will preform an automatic connection test.
  3. 15Wait for the Wii to connect and download any needed updates.

I m trying to connect Internet but I m getting the error code 51422 Please help what should I do?

1. Make sure that you are using the Wii LAN Adapter made by Nintendo. LAN adapters not made by Nintendo likely will not work with the Wii console.

2. Ensure that the Wii LAN Adapter setup is correct, and that the Wii LAN Adapter was connected with the console turned off.

3. Check to see if the ethernet cable you are using is not working properly, by connecting another ethernet cable from your router/modem to the Wii LAN Adapter. If the connection works using a different cable, then the problem was with the first cable.

4. If possible, try another Wii LAN Adapter.

Error code 51420 on my wii console. I am trying to establish a connection to the internet. I have a router which is working properly because i can get on the internet now. I have ran my ethernet cable...

Error Code: 51420 The Wii console is not able to connect to your wired router or modem.

  1. If your connection worked previously, check to see if there is a Wii System Update that you have not aquired. To get the latest Wii System Update:
    1. From the Wii's main menu, select the Wii icon along the bottom left of the screen.
    2. Select "Wii Settings".
    3. Click the left arrow to get to Wii System Settings 3
    4. Choose "Wii System Update"
    5. Choose "Yes" to connect to the internet and perform a Wii system update.
  2. Make sure that you are using the Wii LAN Adapter made by Nintendo. LAN adapters not made by Nintendo likely will not work with the Wii console.
  3. Check to make sure you are not running the Wii LAN Adapter from a USB hub (a device that connects multiple USB products through a single device), as this will likely not work. Connect the USB Connector directly to the modem or router.
  4. Ensure that the Wii LAN Adapter setup is correct, and that the Wii LAN Adapter was connected with the console turned off.
  5. Check to see if the ethernet cable you are using is not working properly, by connecting another ethernet cable from your router/modem to the Wii LAN Adapter. If the connection works using a different cable, then the problem was with the first cable.
  6. If possible, try another Wii LAN Adapter. If you are unable to try another Wii LAN Adapter, or are still receiving this error code, please call 1-800-255-3700 for assistance.

Unable to connect Wii to internet

When you go to the Wii options->wii settings->internet->connection settings->connection 1..clear settings. Then go back to connection 1 and click 'wireless connection' Then 'search for access point'. Your wireless should be one of the choices(plus any nearby neighbors). If no wireless connections available then recheck your router. If you are sure there should be an access point and the Wii didn't find it, possibly defective wireless in the Wii.

How do you connect wii to internet through t.v.

Hey. This is a common question for people who own a Wii since it doesn't have a built in ethernet port to connect to through your router or modem.
There are two possible options for you to connect your Wii to the internet:
1.] You can buy a $10 USB adapter here that will allow you to connect it just like you would any other computer in your home: http://www.amazon.com/Ethernet-LAN-Adapter-Nintendo-Wii-Port/dp/B003C3WYOM
2.] You can use its built-in WiFi card to connect to wireless internet in your home. If you don't have a wireless router or wireless access points then this probably is not a viable option.
Good luck!

Can you connect the wii to internet using a verizon usb internet connection no cable or wi fi

It is not possible to stick your usb in to your wii and let it connect on to the internet. However, you can plug it into a computer, which makes it give off a wireless signal. Your wii should be able to pick up the signal, so you can then connect to the internet. If your not sure how to configure the wii to connect to the internet, email me at murkwood17@hotmail.com
