Can you get to the bottom or the bottom or the back of the tub? If not, you can take out the stopper on the top with the one screw, the stopper will pull right out , It goes back a little harder, but it will go.You might be able to get to the clog from there, it might be the clog! Take the strainer off the drain, one screw, and you should be able to snake through the whole thing to the trap, if it is still clogged up, get out the acid, liquid plumber, or some sort of lye, it will eat it up. Be careful with that stuff, it is potent and stinky. Hope this helps.

Hi and thank you for using fixya:
Taking apart can be expensive and hard. Here is how to do it.
1-Remove your tub lining
2-remove tub
3-you will have access to the pipe
I would suggest buying a pipe cleaner they work really good
good luck

Has it always been that way? It may be a venting issue along with a possible clog..I would first "snake" it after removing the drain screen

Tub drains slow

does your bathtub drain slow, and toilet not flush? dont call a plumber just yet, Every fixture in your home should have a air vent associated with it. the vents allow gases to escape and are necessary in allowing the waist water to flowout and down the pipes. most vents lead up through the roof, these are usualy 2" in diameter and raise up about 20" from the roof. there are other ventsin and around the home like the drain pipe for your washer or the overflow drains in sinks and tubs. If you have a tub that drains slow its usually hair buildup in the trap and is simple to clear. If you have a problem like the one i had and you've tried everything and it still wont drain the vent may be clogged. In my case the toilet wouldnt flush allong with the tub draining very slow, I threw every thing i could at the problem including removing the toilet and running a power snake. You can imagine how i felt when i put the toiket back in place and when i flushed it nothing happened:( after some thought i went to the tub and removed the chrome cap 0ver the overflow and ran a wire with the end bent like a hook as i pulled the wire out the toilet flushed, on the end of the wire was a clump of hair . problem solved!

The washing machine is draining but the water is coming back inside?

Check out this possibilities for water not draining in the washing machine: This problem relates to the hose connected to drain pump. The drain hose should not be in laundry tub more then 4 to 5 inches. Measure it and if it’s more then 4 to 5 inch then cut the excess hose in the tub. If your drain hose is lower than the washer's cabinet, install an air gap/siphon break assembly. But if the drain pump hoses are ok checked then this problem relates to slow drain of water from laundry tub. You can solve this issue by cleaning the drain pump blockages and dirt build up this will make the flow of water proper in the draining of the laundry tub.
This will help.thanks.

Slow tub drain

I am not completly sure about the kohler, but i think that you have a toe tap drajn. You should be able to un-screw it counter clockwise.IF you can get it un-screwed look at the bottom of the toe tap. There will be a screw or a plastic nut.I beleave that you loosen it to raise the drain I hope my information is correct,I will certanly do some research on your drain.

Stops before rinse cycle... won't drain or spin.

The REGULAR CYCLE button turns the drain pump on or off. The REGULAR LED will turn
on when the pump is on. This feature can be used to drain the tub. You could get a bucket and lay the hose on the fllor. Gravity will drain it down.
