Cannot see through the lens of a 565 bushnell telescope

I purchased a 565 bushnell telescope second-hand but I cannot see through the eyepieces. I am an amature at this and would appreciate how to trouble shoot the telescope. Thanks

Did you remove the lens cap.

This is a simple refractor telescope. Put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the telescope. DO NOT use the 2x barlow if you have one.

Practice focusing on a distant object during the day time. Read my TIPS on my profile page.

I need to know how to assemble the eyepiece on a Bushnell 565 telescope?

The eyepiece DOES NOT assemble. It is all one piece. If you unscrew the bottom or the top-- never do this. You must reassemble the lenses exactly.

The eyepiece goes directly into the diagonal (an L shaped device with a mirror inside, and then the diagonal goes into the tube.. That's it. You can buy eyepieces from dozens of different suppliers. Here is one:

Bushnell 78-9003 telescope purchased at yard sale with no eyepiece. Where can I purchase one that will fit? It talks about a .965 inch eyepiece.

.965 eyepieces are readily available on ebay. A meade 25mm MA (modified achromat) is about $10 plus shipping This will give you 700mm/25mm= 28x power. Avoid any eyepiece marked with a H (Huygens) as they have terrible field of view.
.965 is not a popular size anymore and Bushnell does not make very good telescopes. Don't get frustrated, if you are still interested, buy a Meade, Celestron, Orion quality telescope.

Just purchased used. There is no instruction manual. I can only see a little dot of light when looking into the eyepiece. I don't know if all of the part are there....?

All of the Bushnell manuals are on this page.

Look down the page for your telescope. You must insert an eyepiece into the focuser. Do you have any eyepieces?

I also bought one & have no idea how the lenses should work...

Verify that the mirrors are aligned; look through the eyepiece holder (without an eyepiece) and you should see the main mirror with your eye looking back from the center. Ensure that there are no filters on the eyepiece, and use the lowest power one to begin (longest focal length).
