Black bar in one of the channels

I have this Sony Bravia LCD 1080P TV which has started showing a black bar in channel 4 which goes off when I do a remote function but comes back again soon and stays there. The size of the bar is around 8 inches X 24 inches. It is a 46" TV.

Picture freezes on Sony Bravia 46 in

this can be a weak signal check the connections on cables. also in hot weather you can get a build up of static electricity and it will need to be discharged, turn off tv at mains and cross the connector and the cables if you have a buster or other box connected to them turn off and do the same to them. use something metal but make sure there is no power to them.

'No Signal' on Sony XBR

on the tv remote: press menu, external entry is highlight (yellow) right press on the outer circle then scroll down to video 4 (satellite entry) (it could be on video 3 depending of the satellite assignment entry) when video 4 is highlight (yellow) right press on the outer circle on the screen you will see 1080i if settle on an HD channel hope it will fix your Sony Bravia..
