Hello, DSL Filters, or Microfilters as they are often described, are required to separate the
normal low-end frequencies associated with voice calls from the high-end frequencies
used by your ADSL connection. The correct installation of these filters is important to
ensure the best possible performance of your ADSL connection.

Introducing the DSL Filter:

The diagram below illustrates one example of an ADSL Filter. There are several
different varieties - including the dongle-type below, a splitter, which plugs directly
into your wall socket, and a plate, which replaces the standard BT Master Socket.

Plug the modem filter in the wall, plug the modem into the filter, then plug the router into the modem. From there you should be able to set up your network or personal internet.

Wireless facility does not work LED does not illuminate. I have tried to get access to web site

The connection to your modem could be faulty.
Ring your ISP and get them to test the connection to your ADSL modem.
Also do you have ADSL line filters on all your phones?
The phone connection to the ADSL modem does NOT use a ADSL filter.

I lost my manual and would like help in connecting to phone jack

Each phone or dial-up modem or fax machine needs a DSL filter attached to the phone line/socket then each phone or dial-up or fax machine is then plugged into this filter.
The DSL modem does not require a filter.
If your fax is part of the computer's modem then a filter is also required on the line-in on the modem.
The instructions for sending & receiving depends upon your system/dial-up modem (the make & model, is it stand alone or a modem adapter on the expansion slot or built-in on the motherboard) and the software you are using. Cannot help you without these details.

1st time installation: cannot install modem properly

Hey try this one, if doesn't work let me know. First you have to powercyle your modem - meaning turn it off for 10 to 25 seconds then power it up again. Then check status of the modem lights. It should all be in solid green. Else you have to check if cables are properly connected - Data cable (green cable) one end connected to the filter with labeled "DSL/PHN" or the one with monitor engraved, then other end connected to the green port on the back of your modem. Then check also connection of filter to walljack. After which check status of the lights. If still not all in solid green. Check devices near to your modem, these might be the reason for interference of DSL signal. Electronic such as monitors, speakers... must be 2-3 feet away from your modem. Check modem lights. If all in green, test connection. Also there should only be one phone jack connected to your DSL phone line.

Lose DSL connection when tv is turned on.

If there is a filter on BOTH ends of the phone line that is the problem. There should only be one plugged into the wall. Take the phone line and plug it into the phone side of the filter. The end that plugs into your receiver should never have a filter on it. Also I've never heard of a receiver needing to be connected to a phone line AND a router. You usually only need one or the other but not both.

HI

A flashing ADSL light on the router means its not getting constant broadband signals. Make sure it is connected to the adsl filter without any extensions and the filter should be directly connect to the main phone socket and not to an extension socket. Also check if the phone socket has 1 or more than 1 ports on it. If it has two port its most likely a SSFP socket which does not require a filter as it is inbuit. If all the connections are fine try changing da filter.

Connecting

jon, I am assuming you have DSL modem. Sending a fax by DSL requires one of two methods: 1. You obtain a DSL line filter suitable for connecting a standard voice telephone to the DSL line, then connect an analog fax modem to the line through the line filter. Good Luck, Tim
