Question about Computers & Internet

5 Answers

1. It takes over an hour to download 2 photos from my FlashTrax to my computer. My FlashTrax is a 40 GB model purchased on 3/3/04 and my computer has Win XP. Thinking an upgrade may resolve this problem, I've tried unsuccessfully to install an upgrade following the "FlashTrax Firmware Upgrade Notes" found on the Website. More specifically, I've twice supposedly downloaded the upgrade but have been unable to open either file. The files I've downloaded are: FTXUpgradeDownload.exe and FTXUpgradeDownload(2).exe.

When I have FlashTrax connected to my computer it slows everything down. I noticed this this past summer and the solution was to not keep FlashTrax connected. Now I have numerous photos on FlashTrax from a recent trip to Mexico and, of course, it has to be connected to the commuter to download. How can I download these photos in a reasonably short period of time like it used to do? Also, how can I open (I presume this is the same as "executing this file") FTXUpgradeDownload.exe? I have 3.62 GB of RAM.

In response to IB4G2008 question: "What's your computer model, please?"

The following is shown under System Properties: Dell Dimension DM051,
    Intel (R)
    Pentium(R) D CPU 2.80GHz,
2.79 GHz, 3.62 GB of RAM

Does this give you the info you wanted?

A number of factors, having little to do with the age or capabilities or your system, can create excruciating system slowness.

Operating System
File System (how you've organized files on your PC)
Applications
Hardware

The Windows OS (operating system) is notoriously inefficient, which can affect performance. The file system also impacts Windows and hardware performance. How you work with applications can improve system speed, as can some basic hardware updates.

    When your system slows down,
check Task Manager for closed-down applications that haven't
relinquished their hold on system resources.

One big problem, I am sorry to say with the Flashtrax is that it is very slow, in not only transferring files from it to a computer but from going from one image to the next. Many people have the same problem as you and hate it. The only really good thing is that the flashtrax verifies that the entire picture is transferred onto it and that it can hold so much memory otherwise it is a waste of time. Why have memory when you don't have speed? I'm sorry but that's the truth, hope this helps

How much ram memory does your computer have?
Any photo activity on a computer takes more ram memory.
I suggest you check that first.
I found a new ram card with more memory for my presario and it speeded things up both on and off of the internet.
Another help may be to go to download.com and look for a program that would be free to download.
There are programs that can defrag your registry and look for registry errors.
Also there are programs that will defrag ram memory whenever it seems to be slowing down.

I just bought a sanyo camera vpc-t1495 and took 2 pictures and now its saying memory is ful. what do i do to correct this.

Good day,

The camera has a small internal memory that you can use to store photos on. The internal memory is normally not enough to take a lot of photos. You are able to delete the current photos by erasing the memory or deleting the photos one by one.

The solution is to purchase a memory card. I would recommend a 4 Gb SD Card.

With the extra space the memory card provides it will take a while before you run out of memory. When the card is starting to get full download all the images to your computer and erase the SD Card.

Hope this answers your question!

Regards

HI, I have an LG viewty 990i . It did not come with any software but I bought myself the usb cable. I cannot however, upload the photos from the camera to my laptop. Can you help me please?

Had exact same problem. I first purchased and fitted a 2 Gb mini SD for the phone to store photos. I then phoned LG support 0844 847 5454 who pointed me to the LG website download

>lgmobile.com
>Europe/uk
>Support manual/software
>DOWNLOAD
>Customer support
>Application/manual
>usb drivers
> Model number: KU990i
Serial number: (see phone inside)
IMEI : (see phone inside)

Find the downloads on your computer and install. When you connect your phone you will see it as an extra drive in Windows Explorer. Remember that before you can drag-and-drop from phone to computer (using Windows Explorer) you will need to 'move' you photos to your mini SD (see phone manual). It works a dream.

Downloading pictures.

Hi,
Are the photo's stored on a memory card?

If so then i suggest you purchase a card reader, take the card out of the camera and put it into the the card reader, plug that directly into your PC and transfer the photo's to your PC.

If you don't have them on a memory card but on the camera's internal memory, put in a memory card and transfer the photo's to that using the camera's menu. Then you can use the card reader to get your photo's on your PC.

Card readers are fairly inexpensive and can cost anything from $2 - $40 (£1 - £25-30) Please post back if you require anymore help or advice. Regards.

Can I view photos on my iPod photo/"Color"? nano?

Depending on the model, to view photos on your iPod photo/"Color", you either need to import photographs using Apple's iPod Camera Connector, or transfer images from your computer through iTunes 4.7 or higher to the iPod. For the current iPod U2 Special Edition "Color", iPod "Color" (20.0 GB), the version of the iPod photo (60 GB) introduced on February 23, 2005 and renamed iPod "Color" (60 GB) on June 28, 2005, as well as the discontinued iPod photo (30 GB), the simplest way to transfer photos from many digital cameras to your iPod is to purchase and use Apple's iPod Camera Connector (US$29). This device simply allows you to directly connect a digital camera to the camera connector and in turn connect the camera connector to the iPod "dock" port. Photos imported using the iPod Camera Connector are immediately viewable, with the exception of RAW format images and video clips. However, photos imported using the iPod Camera Connector cannot be immediately viewed as a slideshow with transitions. On versions of the iPod photo (40 GB, 60 GB) released prior to February 23, 2005, photos transferred directly from a digital camera using an iPod-compatible media reader are not immediately viewable, but photos transferred through iTunes 4.7 or higher, which converts photos into a "thumbnail" format, can be viewed on the iPod photo itself or displayed using the iPod photo connected to a TV or projector. The iPod nano, introduced September 7, 2005, can display photographs on the internal display "loaded" from a computer, but as it lacks video out, it cannot display photographs on a television or projector. The iPod nano also does not support the iPod Camera Connector or third-party solutions, so photos cannot be transferred from a camera. For information regarding the iPod nano and accessory compatibility, please refer to Apple Support
