Your iTunes might need some configuration to be enabled. In copying those songs, you need to configure a setting in iTunes that says something like automatically check track names online.

1. Go to iTunes --> Preferences... and choose "Advanced"
2. Click Importing.
3. Enable the check box, "Automatically retrieve CD track names from the internet.

Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes.

I have imported a CD to iTunes (a compilation album "American Anthems" - Various Artists) but instead of recognising the tracks as being a part of one album it has split them into their own individual...

You need to modify the information on each of those songs.
To do that, you need to open iTunes and go to your music library.
Select one of the songs that you want to modify and right-click on it.
Select Get Info.
Select Info tab (second among the tabs on top)
And type in the name of the album on the box under Album.
And click OK to save changes.
You can also Next or Previous if you see that the next/previous song belong to that album. That way you don't need to select and right-click on the next/previous song. It will automatically open the info of that song.

How to download music albums from Itunes to Iphone, Step by step instructions, please

Ok, click on purple iTunes app logo. Easiest way is to hit search at bottom centre left of screen and type in the name of album or artist. Then select the required album and it will then take you to a breakdown of songs on album. Click on any song title to sample the song (free 15secs of song to check if it is correct). Then click buy or click on any icon with price on it, the icon will turn green and ask "buy now" then click that and hold for a second. If you have an itunes account set up it will bill your account and download song to you library where you can search for it by name. If you dont have an iTunes account setup I can help you there too.

Hope this helps and if so please vote.

Thanks

Jim

I need to change the speed of the upload to itunes. Iit is taking forever and the speed it shows is .01X How do I change it so that one song does not take 30 minutes.

It appears that when Itunes went to 9-there must a have been a glitch for Vista(whoa- no surprise there). I went to ION and reuploaded the most recent software and I was able to upload an album is a few minutes.

I have purchased a turntable with ez audio converter. I record one side of an album and it says recording complete. I click next and after a minute the software opens itunes and says converting temp1. Wait...

You can record the entire album, both sides without having to press next. When the entire album has been recorded then press next, you will a dialog box that allows you to name the album and songs. Make sure you have the most up to date software from the ION website- that is if you have an ION turntable. Go to ION website and locate your turntable- software will be on that page. Run it and it should correct any problems.

How to get album art?

  1. Click on "Advanced" which is found at the top of the screen. Select "Get Album Artwork" from the drop down menu. It will ask you "Are you sure you want to get album artwork?" Hit "Get Album Artwork". Before you do that, you can select "Don't ask me again" if you don't want this to pop up in the future.
  2. Wait until it is done searching for the artwork. A window will pop up saying that it either found all artwork or they didn't. If they did, then great, your done, plug in your iPod and start jamming. But if they didn't, you can still jam away, but check the song title, album name, artist, and genre to see if you got it typed in correctly. Type in what they are supposed to be and try again.
  3. If they still can't find it, then you can add them manually. Look at the link below to find out how to do it manually.
OR
If Itunes wont find the art work:
  1. Find the artwork for the album on the internet. Try using Wikipedia. Click on the artwork to get a larger image. If you can't find it there, I'm sure you can find it using Google images. Anyway, once you find it drag it to your desktop. Make sure it is on there before you continue.
  2. Next, you need to highlight the songs that are in the album you are getting artwork for. To highlight multiple songs, click on the first song and then while holding the shift key click on the last song. To highlight multiple songs that aren't grouped together, click on all the songs while holding the command key on a Mac and ctrl key on a PC.
  3. Now go to "File" then "Get Info". A window will pop up asking you if you want to edit multiple items. Click "Yes". Another window will pop up labeled "Multiple Item Information". You will notice a box on the right hand side of the window that says "Artwork". Click and drag the artwork that is on your desktop into that box. It should appear there. When it does, select "Ok".
  4. When it is done processing, plug your iPod into the computer, sync it, and take your iPod out to start listening to your improved music.

Have songs from I tunes, need to transfer to a new I pod.How do we do this?

You should be able to drag the songs from iTunes to your iPod (as long as Manually Manage Music is checkmarked). It will then pop up a dialogue box asking if you would like to authorize. Select yes, type in your apple login info (that you use for iTunes) and voila. Success.
If you are trying to get songs off one iPod and onto another -- you can transfer your entire music library from your iPod to your computer, then use them to populate your library. Then put library on new ipod. All you have to do is enable showing of hidden files and folders (on both mac and pc). The folders titled 00 to 49 will have all your music in random letter names. You'll find em :)

Hi, I am trying to move my Ipod songs to my itunes...

One thing you can do is burn all the songs from your old computer's iTunes onto CDs, then re-upload them to your iTunes on your new computer. It sounds ridiculous that there's not a better way, but so far that's the only method I've found that's worked.

Email music from itunes.

Click the "attach" button in Mail and browse to the location of the song.
This is usually in your User folder (the little house) in the music folder. Like so:
User name > Music > iTunes > iTunes Music > [artist name] > [album name] > [song title]
Pick the song you want to attach and hit Send.
Several possible "gotchas" though: - Songs you buy from iTunes may be "protected" files. MP3s should be fine. - Some email systems limit the size of file attachments, so your email may not make it.   (Transfer using something like YouSendIt.com instead.)
Hope that helps.

Downloading music files

iTunes might not be able to find a file or folder if:
  • The media files were moved from the iTunes media folder to a different location on your computer or to an external drive.
  • The media files were accidentally deleted from your computer.
  • The network or external drives storing the content are unavailable.
Correct the media file path Use these steps to help iTunes find the media file's correct location:
  1. In iTunes on your Mac or PC, select the song, album, movie, or TV show that has the exclamation point next to it.
  2. From the menu bar at the top of your computer screen or at the top of the iTunes window, choose Edit > Get Info.
  3. When you see a message asking if you want to locate the file, click Locate.
    • If you know the file's location, point iTunes to it and try to play your content.
    • If you don't know the file's location, search for it:
Mac: Press the Command ? and Space keys on your keyboard, then type the movie title, app, song, album, or artist name.
Windows: Press the Windows key on your keyboard, then type the movie title, app, song, album, or artist name. If your keyboard doesn't have a Windows key, press the Control (Ctrl) and Escape (Esc) keys on your keyboard.
    • If the file is on an external or network drive, connect to the external drive or network volume.
    • If you find your items in the Trash or Recycle Bin, restore them to their previous location:
Mac: Control-click or right-click the item and choose Put Back.
Windows: Right-click the item and choose Restore.
  4. After you recover the file, use Get Info again to locate the file, then point iTunes to the correct location.
